To Lorne With Love

We're SUPER excited to be supporting To Lorne With Love which kicks off TODAY at 5pm!!!

The whole team at CCL Traffic is sending you strength and love in this amazing journey Cameron Nugent.

Over the past few weeks, our team at CCL Traffic has been busy working on the plans to support the absolute legend Cameron Nugent to raise 100k for cancer research with a 150km non-stop run from Prahran to Lorne in 24 hours.

Cam and Skye were smitten, then Skye was re-diagnosed with and died from cancer. Before she died she bought a block of land in Lorne and challenged Cam to build their dream house, on his own. With no help. He had to build the house himself. She wanted him to have a project in her absence. I don’t know if I can explain how epic this undertaking is. Cam is a writer, not a builder. It's been 8 entire years, many fails, many courses and much YouTubiversity. Cam has finally finished their dream house, and it will be given to Peter Mac when he dies.

Cam has decided to run from where they met in Greville street, to the finished dream house in Lorne, where he will reveal the house to all of his loved ones, who have not seen it yet. Cam has held it all back until the house was done. Cam's doing the run, with no training, because cancer gives no notice, but spaghetti legs will get there.

Cam is trying to raise an epic $100K for Love Your Sister, and we are doing everything we can to help him get there. We are having an epic ‘To Lorne With Love’ auction. There is a wide variety of products, experiences and vouchers there, plus a signed Premiership Collingwood jersey (Skye was a Collingwood girl), including personal stuff too. I’ve been waiting for the right moment also. The right moment is now. I have one of the last LYS books signed by my sister Connie’s hand. I’m keeping one for myself, obviously. My jersey I wore on the unicycle ride ten years ago, framed, is also ready to find a new home.

Oscar Winner JK Simmons (‘Whiplash’), Andy Lee, Claudia Karvan, Sullivan Stapleton, Georgie Parker, Stephen Curry, Shane Jocobson, Sam Mac and a variety of other showbiz identities are getting behind Cam for ‘To Lorne With Love’, many have donated personally, and are asking for you to think about doing the same. He’s currently on $18,015, and we’re hustling to get to $100K. The old cliche is true - every little bit helps. Our nearly $20M so far didn’t come from the high end of town, put it that way. If you have a spare penny, then no one deserves it more than Cam. A labour of love, which took near a decade.

I can’t wait to help reveal the house to his loved ones when he finishes his epic run, to bookend this breakage in such a heartfelt way. I’m really hoping that we, as a village, get behind this guy, and either place a bid in the ‘To Lorne With Love’ auction, or donate to help him honour his lost love. I know it’s a lofty goal, but his run in three weeks time will capture a lot of media, and a strong, powerful village, with an auction, might help him get there. Might. We are doing all we can to make this the perfect rainbow after such a dark loss. Help us if you can.

Full speed ahead! ⏩ We’re making rapid progress at Gap Road.

👷🏿‍♀️ The final layer of asphalt has been laid on the road underpass.

🚴‍♀️ We’re continuing to install glass-reinforced concrete panels along the walls of the lowered road, and pouring concrete for the pedestrian and cycling paths.

🚦 We’re also installing traffic signs throughout the area, including on the rail bridge.

It’s really starting to take shape as we work to improve safety and liveability in Melbourne’s booming north west! ☀

There’s a bit happening in Bulleen from early August to September as we prepare for major construction of the North East Link Tunnels – here's what you need to know.

📍 We’ll be setting up construction compounds along Bulleen Road to help prepare for major works, with crews working between Veneto Club and the Eastern Freeway.

📍 There will also be works in the Bulleen industrial precinct, including between Greenaway Street and Ilma Court.

Works are taking place:
☀️ 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 7am to 1pm Saturdays.
🌙 Night works will also take place for up to four weeks from early August along Bulleen Road, between Bulleen Park and Greenaway Street.

North East Link will take 15,000 trucks off local roads daily, and slash travel times by up to 35 minutes.
