Savouring moments as a team 🧡
Last night we enjoyed a night of painting with a little wine and food on the side. Our team created some amazing masterpieces (almost), but the most important thing was we got to catch up, chat and socialise as a team 👩🎨 🥂 🎨
Much like the adage “it takes a village to raise a child", we believe it takes an amazing team to accomplish great things at Create 🤩
As specialists in Women's Health, part of what we love doing is sharing our knowledge 👨⚕️👩⚕️
Holding events for our amazing Melbourne GPs where we get together over a nice meal, learning about important women’s health topics is a great way to foster collaboration to better Women's Health, remove the stigma around infertility, and connect with each other.
This event was held at the amazing Supernormal Melbourne and we had an amazing night connecting with our GPs.
Today is Red Nose Day 🔴 where we’re getting silly for a serious cause - raising awareness and funds for research into SIDS, stillbirth, SUDI, and miscarriage.
Every day in Australia, 6 babies are stillborn and 2 die within 28 days of birth. By supporting and raising awareness, we’re helping path the way towards better understanding the causes and helping bereaved families and parents who experience the devastating loss of a baby or child.
Join the Create team, don on a red nose and donate today to https://www.rednoseday.org.au/matchday. Every donation made today will be matched ❤️
We're raising money for Jeans for Genes Day at the clinic today and proudly showing off our denim 👖
Did you know that 1 in 20 kids face a birth defect or genetic disease? By donating through Jeans for Genes, we're helping scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute find cures, so these kids can go back to being kids 👧🧒
Jeans for Genes also celebrates 30 years of helping save children's lives this year! 🤩 We're so happy to be raising money for such a good cause! 🩷
Welcome to the world baby Romeo 🥰
IVF success for the Foschini family has brought them 2 beautiful children, and we are so proud we could be part of their fertility journey. Congratulations 👶✨🤩
Our Dr Mei helped mum Linda to birth Romeo via maternal assisted caesarean with Dr Haider present as the assistant surgeon; it's always a team effort at the Create family. It’s such a privilege to be able to see through the whole journey to baby (and beyond) 🩷
While HPV or human papillomavirus, is a common infection and there are over 100 types of HPV, there are some that can cause serious illness, including cervical cancer. While cervical cell changes used to be assessed in isolation (known as a cervical screening test), today we screen women for cervical cancer, assessing HPV DNA status together with cellular changes.
It is important to remember to book in your cervical screening test every 5 years to help detect cervical cell changes in your body that may become cancer if left untreated. This simple (though slightly uncomfortable) test helps find cervical cancer before symptoms become present, making it easier to treat, and reduce possible spread. You may also be suitable for a self collection sample! Just ask your GP if this is a suitable option for you.
When was your last cervical screening test?
It's important to understand that miscarriage isn’t your fault 🩷 Every miscarriage is different and there is no right or wrong way to feel. It is not uncommon to feel a range of emotions like anger, guilt, emptiness, jealousy, sadness, numbness, disappointment, and confusion. Miscarriage happens, and you are not alone 🥰🩷
If you'd like to talk to someone about your miscarriage, please call us, or SANDS on 1300 308 307
Around 25% of women of reproductive age suffer with heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) – a serious, yet treatable, medical condition. Despite it being prevalent in Australia, it still goes untreated due to its stigma, lack of understanding, and embarrassment.
It's time to break the stigma and put your health first! Women shouldn't be embarrassed by their bodies, or feel like they 'just have to live with it'. We're all different, and not every woman’s periods are equal.
If you think you're periods are heavy, our team of highly skilled, expert gynaecologists are here to help, empowering you to make the best decisions about your health.

Around 1 in 7 Australian women are diagnosed with the inflammatory condition known as endometriosis by the time they reach the age of 44 😳 From Dr Mei, “The average time to arrive at a diagnosis is 6.5 years. The symptoms may be non-specific, and varies depending on the location of the endometriosis lesions. The diagnosis itself may occasionally be challenging to the untrained eyes, even at the time of laparoscopy. Management often requires multidisciplinary, skilled holistic care for optimum outcome."
At Create Health, we care for many women with endometriosis and are skilled in the management of all cases, from mild to the most severe situations. Our fertility and endometriosis surgeons are highly experienced and well-regarded 👩⚕️👨⚕️

Every woman is different, which means the amount of blood lost during a menstrual period differs from person to person. A large loss of blood can affect women both physically and emotionally and can be a very distressing time. You should visit your doctor if heavy periods are disrupting your everyday life.
Menorrhagia is heavy or prolonged bleeding during your period. It can be caused by a number of issues including hormone problems, problems with the uterus, pregnancy complications, polyps, as well as IUD use or side effects from medication.
There are treatment options available, and differ depending your your particular circumstances. Some of these include:
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, to help reduce menstrual blood loss and relieve painful menstrual cramps.
- Tranexamic acid reduces menstrual blood loss and only needs to be taken during the heavy bleeding days.
- Oral contraceptives can help regulate menstrual cycles and reduce prolonged menstrual bleeding.
- Oral progesterone can help correct hormone imbalance.
- Hormonal IUD releases a type of progestin which can significantly reduce menstrual blood flow and cramping.
- Hysteroscopic resection to remove uterine polyps or fibroids.
- Endometrial ablation to permanently seal the lining of your uterus.
- Myomectomy involves the surgical removal of uterine fibroids.
- A Hysterectomy to permanently remove your uterus and possibly cervix.

Throughout your cycle, your hormones cause your cervical mucus to change in texture, volume and colour, and it can help identify when you're most fertile. Generally, your mucus is thick, white and dry before ovulation (when your o***y releases an egg), and it will change to watery and egg-whiteish just before ovulation.
To track your ovulation by your cervical mucus, you can look for these signs:
Dry or sticky = not yet ovulating
Creamy = ovulation may be coming
Wet = close to ovulation
Raw egg white consistency = ovulation is approaching. This is the best time to have s*x, if you want to get pregnant.
While it's not perfect science, it's a method to help you predict where you're at in your cycle. Good luck 🙂
