How To Turn Off Windows 10 Update Delivery Optimization Feature | Redmond Pie

The new Windows 10 Update Delivery Optimization feature may be using part of your monthly data allowance to share Windows Updates to other people on the internet. This is enabled by default for Windows 10 users. For BigPond customers and with some other ISPs, all upload traffic is counted toward your monthly data allowance. If you believe this to affect you, the article below describes how to turn this feature off or limit it to sharing the update to computers in your own network.

redmondpie.com Here are step by step instructions on how to turn off Windows 10 Update Delivery Optimization feature which is basically turned on by default to share Windows Updates with other users around the world.

25/03/2014

Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003 support will be ending on April 8th 2014.

Although your computer will continue to work after this date, Microsoft will no longer be supporting it's users with support and security patches as new security holes become discovered.

Many hardware manufacturers have begun not supporting their devices under Windows XP. You may find that new devices such as printers that you purchase from this date may not work with your Windows XP machine.

What do you do? In all honesty, if your computer is running Windows XP at this point, it is highly likely that you won't just need to upgrade your version of Windows, but upgrade hardware inside your computer to support the new version of Windows. This can prove costly, especially for a computer that may be older than 5-years.

In our opinion, it would be more cost efficient to replace your computer with a new computer running Windows 7/8.1. Not only will you be running the latest Windows on the latest hardware, but you will have a manufacturer warranty to fall back on if something was to go wrong inside your computer. But we will let you decide :)

Microsoft Office 2003 was one of the best releases of Microsoft Office. It set a benchmark for other suites. However, without additional plugins, you are unable to access the newer file formats or access online content such as pre-made templates from the Office.com website.

There are even better improvements for collaboration and performance that have been made to Outlook. It may be a learning curve getting to know the newer products of the Microsoft Office suite, but still worth the upgrade. The bad news: You need a PC running Windows 7/8/8.1 to run the latest Office 2013 / 365.

If you have any queries, regarding where to go from here, give us a call at the office or send us an inbox message.
