The not so glamorous side of a bodybuilding prep.
Although achieving an extremely low body fat percentage for stage looks fu***ng awesome, I’m here to tell you that it is not a reflection of a sustainable physique nor does it reflect optimal health. There is only a small proportion of the year that we maintain this state of leanest, and it requires weekly and daily monitoring, particularly towards the final weeks coming into show. A reverse diet, which follows the show, primarily focuses on restoring health markers back to there most optimal state.
Every prep comes with its challenges but it requires resilience and a relentless attitude to push through. Standards over feeling ALWAYS! I have my purpose and I am SO ready to beat my last years physique 💪🏼 Coming into the 9 weeks out mark. Let’s get it!!!

The true definition of discipline, dedication and consistency! Leigh Clark is a true reflection of our motto “standards over feelings”
Leigh started with us just over a year ago. He hasn’t had an easy run as well. Dealing with melanoma, travelling between Mudgee and Newcastle for work, and being a father of 3! Weighing in at 110kg when we first started to now being 86kg! Body fat percentages started at 26% and are now down to 11% all whilst getting stronger in the gym and eating 2840 cals!
As a coach I am proud of not only the physical changes but the mental changes within Leigh!
We are still pushing the envelope because this man’s goal is to have a six pack! So watch this space! 👊🏻

Anything definite and convicted with purpose is going to have a suck factor! You either have the perception that I’m suffering, I can’t do this, it’s not worth it and always choosing what’s comfortable over the standards you have set in order to achieve the unimaginable goal..
Or you smile and say “give me more pain” give me more challenges, embrace the suck factor and welcome it as the overall massive opportunity of self growth!
In order to achieve we must embrace the challenges that lie ahead of us..
If you don’t. Then you stay stuck in your mediocrity and never achieve the greatness your truely are capable of!
People doing extraordinary things aren’t super human. They have a laid out a path or persistence, purpose and passion to achieve their desired results!
As coach’s we live by that ethos! Persistence, purpose and passion! We embrace our suck in order for our clients to achieve and see through our actions what “ordinary” people can accomplish!
What 18months of hard work looks like! Both the morning of my shows left NABBA 2022 state titles and 2024 IFBB vic titles!
Every bit of blood, sweat and tears has led me to this very moment!

Being absolute definite in purpose, applying a plan with all the sacrifices needed and you will thrive and stand out. It’s not hard.. but it is hard work!
I’d rather be hard working in definite purpose then swim in the cesspool of today’s society..

Fear is the control mechanism our inner devil thrives in.
The inner devil only exists if we feed into the emotions of fear and insecurities. Not having a clear path or direction and allowing others beliefs control our outcomes. Not thinking for one’s self, allowing outside circumstances or authorities dictate your life and inner thoughts or even how we conduct/live our life is all tools in which are used by our inner devil. You become a drifter in life. Purposeless, unfulfilled, rely on vices and live a meaningless existence!
Self mastery of emotions, being absolute in our path of decision making and not wavering or drifting is the essential skills required to overcome the inner devil.
If you don’t control your thoughts or conduct your life’s direction with purpose.. evidently you’ll become alike the rest of the population of mediocrity!
Control your thoughts, self master emotions and be relentless in your life’s purpose and you will become an individual of greatness!
Coaches and clients responsibilities
As a coach it is our role to SET THE STANDARD! If we are not practising what we are preaching, then what sort of image does that leave on clients and potential clients. Leading by example of what true potentials a client can achieve if they desire to select us as a coach!
Accountability! Having the gumption to tell you that you’re not following the plan and therefore not achieving your goals! Always telling the truth by results reflecting in weekly check-ins! Giving advice to the client to implement strategies that will get them back on track! Creating better foundations for future adversity to overcome with a positive result!
Support! Supporting the individual with a firm but fair approach to help the individual client understand and develop not only the mental requirements but also the physical requirements to achieve their desired outcome! We have always taken a hand on approach! Alway giving feedback and guidance to help support your journey more!
Scope! Knowing our scope of knowledge and limitations. We are always continuously learning, always educating ourselves to ensure we have the best knowledge to share and for the client to achieve the result they desire! But also staying within our scope of knowledge and referring when necessary for the best possible outcome for the client!
Clients responsibility!
You have to be COACHABLE! Willing to learn new skills, exercise techniques and nutrition advice to achieve the goal that you have set with your coach! Following the plan to not add any unknown variables! Learning from previous mistakes to create the best possible outcome!
Honesty. As a coach we know exactly when your lying and when your being truthful. Your results DON’T lie.. if you can’t be honest with your coach or yourself then how are you ever going to achieve the desired goal that you have set! Remember you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink!
Effort! You have to do the work! We can only do so much for you as a coach, If you’re not working then the plan won’t work! If you’re not executing the plan then don’t expect change!

12 Week Transformation
What a journey this has been and she’s only just getting started 💪🏼 Not only is Eliza down 7.1kgs but she has lost a huge 42.5cm in overall body measurements, in just 12 weeks!!! Her results are a true representation of what you can achieve when applying 100% effort, discipline and commitment to bettering your lifestyle. The personal growth that we have witnessed from the moment she walked in, to now, is unbelievable. She has developed such a thorough understanding on nutrition and how to fuel herself correctly from a day to day basis, whilst incorporating variety and enjoyment with food. Her training quality and performance is at such a high level and that is through choice. A choice to be challenged daily and be put into the uncomfortable zone in order to grow. An incredible weekend for the iron therapy fitness family! Coach Kat competed yesterday in the WBFF Australian international pro/amateur competition! This is the largest Australian show for this federation. Against a very stacked and incredible line up, Kat was amazing and came away with 3rd place 🥉

This is only just the beginning for Kat, but what an incredible transformation so far. She has lost a massive 16kgs and a total of 60cm in overall body measurements. This would not have been possible without the dedication, commitment, and discipline that Kat has shown over the past couple of months. Not only that, but we have seen a tremendous shift in her mindset and confidence. When one truely commits themselves to a process, they set themselves up for a lifetime of success. Today Kat was busy down at the Mudgee high school hall with “try a trade day” representing ITF and what we do within our community! She got the opportunity to talk to hundreds of high school kids in becoming a Personal trainer/coach! Had a challenge for the high school kids with an isometric hold using a 2 & 3kg dumbbell. We had a boy and a girl winner who received a free PT session with Kat and myself!
A lot of young men and women gravitated towards our stand in regarding questions to our bodybuilding lifestyles, as well as our private coaching facility! A lot of them admiring that we actually live the lifestyle that we preach! “Walking the walk” inspiring the next generation ✊🏻
