BEC GORDON PHOTOGRAPHY IS CLOSING

It is with a heavy heart that I wish to announce I will be closing down Bec Gordon Photography at the end of this financial year 😢

I have loved every part of my Bec Gordon Photography journey, a journey that began 10 years ago. During that time, I have met and worked with some beautiful families, watched families continue to grow and have done so, just from my passion and drive to start something from scratch.

I wanted to be around my children while they were little, and I have done exactly that.

Throughout all of the good times, there’s unfortunately been some upsetting times as well. The emotional toll, pressure and nastiness I have experienced from some clients has hit my limit.

Now with all of my kids at school, it is time for a career break and head back to teaching so I can be available for my family in the evenings and holidays.

I want to take this time to thank each and everyone of you for your support of my small family business, without you, it wouldn’t have been possible.

**If you are still yet to pay for your order or place your order, please do so before 1st June, to allow time to finalise it. After this time the business will be closed.

**If you have a photoshoot booked in between now and end of June, please don’t stress, it will still go ahead! The studio will remain the same!!

A little over two weeks until Easter! 🐰 ​​​​​​​​​Stocking up the kids chocolate baskets already and taste testing in the process.🍫😋​​​​​​​​​

*Flashback to last years mini session in studio.

My youngest daughter saw me this morning applying makeup and asked if she too could wear some. I responded not for school, you're beautiful as you are. I then paused to process what I said, looked in the mirror and said out loud "Mum is beautiful too" and smeared off my lipstick. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Children really are our biggest teachers. 💖

Newborns spend most of their photography session happily, curled up and asleep. Though secretly, every now and then, one of my favourite moments is when they take a little peak up at their parents. ​​​​​​​​​Feeling all the feels with this shot timed perfectly by Victoria. 🥰

A Moro (startle) reflex is a newborns response to their environment and sound, where they extend out their arms and legs, then pull the arms and legs back in. This reflex lasts until the baby is about 2 months old. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​I like to save this 'feeling free' shot for the end of the session, where the baby can break out from their wrap and stretch out their little bodies. Those little toes in the air! Love, love, love...♥️

Goodbye Summer...hello first day of Autumn! 🍂​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
The sunshine will be missed, yet I am so excited to capture rich, warm colours and family snuggles.

Including parent's hands in a shot like this, showcases the scale of their newborn baby. ​​​​​​​​​The comparison of now and then pulls at the heart, when in time your teenager doesn't answer that tenth phone call of the day. 😂

As I mature like a fine wine, I must admit I soften and become more sentimental. And more and more these days I am reminded that my choice in career is not about just clicking a button and taking a photo. I am proudly preserving time, a feeling, a moment, a core memory that can be replayed again and again and again...🍷📸

Isn't it amazing how big your first born all of a sudden looks, when your second child is born?​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​I remember the feeling of guilt shadowing over me, for adding to our family unit, that was until I saw my babies bond. If I could just bottle up that feeling and share it around. Magic! ✨

Have you missed me? One more week and I'm back in studio baby! ​​​​​​​​​Rested from holidays, safe to say end of Feb is a good time to start work for the year. 🤣​​​​​​​​​You will now have both Victoria and I available to pose you, guide you and photograph you. Can't wait! 😄

WA is blessed with the most jaw dropping, crystal clear beaches. We are so spoilt with the richness of our country. For those of you following my travels at .gordo please do share your favourite spots and tips. 🏕️​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Many of my clients come to me seeking professional photographs to honour a milestone, such as their first newborn. Though throughout the session I also aim to acknowledge the love before them. The love of Mum and Dad and that of Grandparents... I can feel it so much in this moment. 😍

Me a parent: Have 12 of my child from 6pm--6:08pm and I can't delete any of them.
