This morning our Lava Girls won their big Grand Final in an epic battle by just one point!!! They have just moved up to this division and they did so well! I’m so proud of their determination and skill! Then they fronted up for rep selections this afternoon!!! So they will be joining us for a well earned pizza tonight! Join us for dinner from 5pm! Our herbs are certainly liking the sun & have blossomed.
We use our basil on our Bruschetta Pizza’s & in our Ravioli pasta. Our parsley is used to garnish our pasta’s & the mint is just for the smell & decoration 🍃

It is a stunning day at The Wood Oven today!!! We completed the 9km walk for World Su***de Prevention Day! A huge thanks to Deb Nash fellow pharmacist at Amcal for walking with me and encouraging me!!! Now I’m going to have a pizza and a beer for lunch! Thank you so much to everyone who helped us raise $521 for Lifeline

On Tuesday on World Su***de Prevention Day I’m walking from The Wood Oven to the base of Mount Tomaree and back to The Wood Oven to raise funds for Lifeline. This is very close to my heart as I lost Paul, Seraphs Dad to su***de 16 years ago. Seraph and I both suffer with treatment resistant depression as well. Please feel free to donate if you can or join myself and my other work colleague Deb Nash my fellow pharmacist at Amcal, as we walk 9km to help prevent su***de. We leave The Wood Oven at 9am!

We are looking for new team members for our restaurant situated at D’Albora Marina Nelson Bay.

We have the following positions available
- FOH Senior with RSA 15-20hours
- Waitstaff
- kitchen hand (will also incorporate making of pizza bases)
- Cook. approx 15 hours. This will be the place where you can showcase your talent and passion for all things food and help make changes to existing menu and implement changes into service.

Applicants must be able to work independently, show initiative and also work as part of a team in our busy, fast paced environment with an emphasis on customer service. We currently work split shifts with the potential to work straight shifts moving into summer.

We are open 6 days a week and offer a very positive and fun working environment.

It’s wet tonight but the fire is hot! Cathy is back after a great game yesterday but unfortunately Vic got a couple of goals from corners in the last quarter and took the win. We are still so proud of Cathy coming home with a SILVER medal! She is making the pizzas tonight so give her a yell of congratulations if you are in tonight! She’s probably a little sore so let’s show her some love for her outstanding effort! We are open from 5:30-8pm tonight for dine in, take away or delivery!

Here is a pic of our fearless leader Cathy scoring her second goal in yesterday’s game! NSW defeated Vic 3-2!!! This places NSW in second place on the ladder and they will play SA tomorrow at 12:10 for a spot in the gold medal match! We are so SUPER PROUD!!!

UPDATE WOMEN’S MASTERS: Yesterday NSW defeated ACT 1-0 with a beautiful goal scored in the last two minutes of the game! Cathy played another fantastic game and we are so proud of her!! We are open today for lunch 11:30-2 and tonight from 5:30-8 so pop in and show all your NSW love! 🥰

Although it’s a bit grey today, we are celebrating! NSW beat SA 2-0 and Cathy scored a goal!!!! The fire is cranking and the pizzas and coffee are just waiting to warm you up!
