Shape Up: Handmade ceramics, made in Newcastle, NSW. Only ceramic enthusiasts know the joy in laying a table with original pieces made by muddy handed makers right here in our own backyard. There’s a beautiful intention attached to owning artisan pottery, original pieces that celebrate stories and imperfections.

Make every meal an occasion.

Made from earths gifts, collected, prepared and presented. We nourish from them, Laying them on tables, chairs, knees, and back on earth. We gather around them, in each others company. Smiles, tears and all between. We share with them. ~ Palinopsia Director @antmcphail Cinematography @alexdufficy Editor: @lucasvazquez @lvc_no1 Stylists: @judytahulme

NEW DROP: Ceramics By Teval Between renovating her beautiful blue studio and keeping up with demand, somehow we managed to get our mitts on a few new pieces from Teval just in time for Christmas. Each piece wears a design shaped by hand and swayed by hot-kiln chemistry. You know the drill, if you like it grab it (and quickly) as they are all one-off’s so they won’t hang around for long. Available online and in store.

We did it! We finally found a place to call home. On a tight budget we rolled up our selves, accepted all the help we could get and turned this historic lil’corner store into something we now happily call home. After four weeks of painting, sanding, hand tiling and striping (varnish not clothes) we are finally ready to open our doors. So gather your favourite humans and drop in to say hi! You can find Palinopsia at the iconic Cooks Hill Book Store corner. The building was built in the mid 1800’s and has lived many lives including as a corner store, a pub and rumoured bordello in 1879. A big thanks to our neighbours @blackbirdcorner @cookshillbooks that helped us through the last few weeks, and for welcoming us into the spectacular Darby Street community. Extra thanks to my pal @judytahulme for the help, and our favourite caffeine dealer @babayagaondarby for the liquid fuel.

Navigating the complexities around wedding gift giving is something we can all relate too. And in a world filled with so much 'stuff', how do we gift something meaningful and useful. Celebrate their nuptials with ceramics. Give the lovebirds pieces as individual as they are with dinner sets that match or clash. Pick a Palinopsia bowl, or let them choose their clay adventure with a gift card. Get great gifts that set the scene for life told at the table.

Soak these plates in new memories! Our earthenware is enduring, like an old friend; as your meal table turns, our dishes stay through your seasons. Through the rowdy nachos nights and potluck plus-ones until your dinnertime has a five in it. Featuring an ever-evolving contemporary range of base shapes – swap out, add-to and customise your setting with individual items.

This season’s Palinopsia campaign was a particularly special one for us. Filmed and photographed over multiple days in the home of our dear friends in Forest Glen, rural New South Wales. Capturing our new pieces and their family's essence is a visual love letter to their 37-acre property and Australia. Palinopsia Ceramics is about everyday living; the rituals of cooking and family. Here, this happens in spades. Thanks to all the talents that contributed to brining our story together, but especially: Director: @antmcphail Cinematography: @alexdufficy Editor: @lvc_no1 Colour: @fergusrotherham Stylist: @judytahulme Photographer: @nicolebutlerphotography
