The final round of the regular season is always a special Saturday. Some teams play their last game for the year and for some of our teams the job is not done as they head into finals.

Either way, the importance of supporting your teammate and having pride in our jersey remains high. Good luck to all our Junior teams tonight and tomorrow - play hard & bleed green.

Then tomorrow afternoon all roads from Merewether lead to No. 2 as we support our First Grade team in the Grand Final at 5.30pm. We need all our juniors dressed in their finest Greens gear to fill the hill with green - go the Green wave!! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

Big thank you to Trent Considine and the Novocastrian Electrical Contractors team for replacing the lights at Gibbs yesterday.

Our U15 Girls will be lighting up the field at Gibbs tonight with their signature electric rugby at 7.30pm and will be very thankful for the upgrade. Come down to Gibbs to support our top of the table girls and start the weekend with rugby.

It's definitely going to be a big weekend of rugby ๐Ÿ’š Go Greens!!

One Club - Juniors through to Seniors ๐Ÿ’š

Merewether Carlton First Grade secured a spot in the 2024 Grand Final on the weekend defeating Maitland with an impressive twelve players who were Merewether juniors in the team. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

On Saturday these 12 players did exactly what they have done since they were 12 or 13, they put the Merewether jersey on and gave their everything for the Greens and their teammates. Our jersey means so much to the entire Greens community. It starts at Gibbs with our grommets and juniors and then heads to Townson with grade โ€“ one club, one jersey.

We look after our juniors and the 2024 first grade team is a fine example of this. Over the past few weeks our senior players have attended many junior training sessions to help coach and mentor the kids. On Saturday 24th at No. 2 Sportsground the juniors will have their chance to support the seniors and they undoubtably will be there in full Green force!

Rookie Greens outfit stun Blacks to secure grand final berth 'We have lost 17 players in the past two years, but these kids always believed.'

Proud Club Moment โญ๏ธ

Selection into three Hunter Wildfires teams in the one season sounds impossible โ€“ not for Merewether's Sachi Scowen!

U12 XV Wildfires
U12 Girls Hunter Wildfires
U13 Girls Hunter Wildfires 7s

Sachi also plays in two of our Merewether junior teams, playing for our Girls U13 team on Friday night and our U12 XV team, with the boys, on Saturday.

Sachi is a tough competitor on the paddock and a great teammate on and off the field. We are very proud of her achievements and cannot wait to see what the future holds! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

Youโ€™d be joining a committed and experienced group.

If you are keen to get involved and help keep the kids on the park playing rugby, weโ€™d love to hear from you.
