As we get closer to the Ramsdale Wreckers Twin Titles being held at Premier Speedway, Warrnambool we take the opportunity to tell you a little bit about our major sponsor Ramsdale Wreckers by way of DMT Media and Dean Thompson.

The Warrnambool Speedway Club, together with Speedway Sedans Victoria welcome you to two terrific nights racing which includes almost one hundred Street Stocks and over fifty Modified Sedans, the latter a class that many consider the premier class of the Speedway Sedans Australia family.

Two of those people that Speedway Sedan Victoria are proud to call friends are Russell Hill and Sara Benson of Ramsdale Wreckers, based in Pakenham.

Russell and Sara have a lifelong passion for Speedway and have both raced and accomplished impressive resumes of their own behind the wheel steering anything they can get their hands on, winning state titles, state aggregates, and series point scores.

Russell himself had been a Modified Sedan regular in the Victorian Modified Promotional Association (VMPA) series against many of the country’s best, including the likes of Justin Drew, Mark Carlin, and Andrew Blackwell, all former or current national champions at the time Russell was competing with them. Through many of his years in the sport Russell has been racing with or sponsoring the VMPA. Sara most recently had a steer of Street Stocks for a period of time and would love to race in the Speedway Sedans Australia classes again in the future, however is focused on business and raising two young daughters Harper and Peyton.
Russell and Sara both have enjoyed and thrived upon the competitive nature of Speedway and the emotions and thrills the sport gave to them, however their biggest takeaways are the friendships across the many years of their involvement, real friendships that they carry on with every day.

One of those friendships come together again when former two times NSW Modified Sedan state champion Bryan Galley gets behind the wheel of a Ramsdale Wreckers supported Modified Sedan for a tilt at the title. This friendship has extended beyond thirty years, including them both racing door to door and Russell supporting Bryan’s racing and Bryan weaving his magic on Ramsdale Wreckers Racing cars.

Russell brought Ramsdale Wreckers in Pakenham from his employer at the time Alan Ramsdale. Ramsdale himself was a Modified and Production Sedan competitor in his day, and Russell started his racing career from a young age with great support from Alan the father of Francis and Wayne. It was through being an employee of Alan that Russell witnessed firsthand Alan’s willingness to give to those in the sport and the returns that doing so brought to Ramsdale Wreckers. It was a lesson that Russell continues with today and has installed into Sara and his team.

Ramsdale Wreckers has supported, looked after with great prices, and provided to many within the Speedway family. Sponsoring events such as they are this weekend with the ‘Ramsdale Wreckers’ Victorian Modified Sedan title brings them great pride.

The event will be a cracker, and the best driver this weekend will have earnt their title, which is for sure.
