Every morning 🤪 I'm doing NaNoWriMo and I'm struuugling. I'm a type A person and want everything done perfectly, but I've realized that it's better just to word vomit the story and fix it later on.

Any one else doing the writing challenge this month? If you are, let me know how you're doing and what your story is about.

Mix of plants. Been outside in the wind and sun since the start, so they're definitely hardened. Some died, but most are still going strong.

The mulberry cutting is growing up! 😍

I had a super windy day a few weeks back, and one of the branches with half the leaves broke off. I was so upset, but the plant didn't seem bothered, and put all its energy into growing the few leaves it had left instead.

Out of the 30+ cuttings I took, this is the only one to survive (apart from one with a singular baby leaf, isn't really doing anything).

It's going to take ages for it to grow into a full-sized mulberry tree, but it's exciting to come out every day and see the progress it's making.

It's been a month since I got bees, so they're now ready for the honey super (the box sitting on top of the brood box, where the queen and her babies live).

It's so cool watching these amazing creatures work. I'm still new to the hobby, so I'm learning the different cell and bee types as I go.

And I've only been stung once! Also found out that I'm no longer allergic to bees, so that's fantastic news. I have less fear now when doing a hive inspection, though I'm still careful and respectful when around them 🐝🐝

Feeling witchy with all my herbs and tinctures. Now I just need the cauldron to complete the look 🧙‍♀️🐈‍⬛️

TBH, the majority of it was done ages ago, but I totally underestimated how long editing and formatting took. Anyway, I'm just glad it's over so I can move on with my life and focus on writing something new lol

Have you ever participated in NaNoWriMo? When I did it a couple of years ago, I struggled HARD at the midway point. Can't say things have changed much these days though aha I still run out of steam somewhere between 45% and 65% through 🥲

Going over the chapters I'd already done helps though, and I usually become unstuck after a day or two.

Sometimes I reaaally don't want to write, especially after a difficult day dealing with rude a$$ customers. But I imagine where I'd be in a year, five years, or twenty years in the future if I never wrote my stories.

Nothing would be more upsetting than knowing I never even tried. That image gets me off Netflix or Insta reels! As long as I either research, plot, write or edit, it's a win for me 👏

I keep forgetting that just two years ago, I was in a job I hated and in a town I couldn't wait to leave. Now, I'm finally in my home city, working a less stressful job.

Even though I'm not quite where I want to be (full-time author), I can't forget how far I've come.
