Studies have shown that exercise results in an overall better mood. When you go on walks and get other forms of exercise, your body releases hormones that make you feel better mentally and emotionally. It only takes a 20 minute walk a day to improve your mental health 🙌

What does it take to be brave? 🪬
When a client gave me this note a year after my sister passed away, it got me thinking about what it takes to be brave.
These are the things I did when I was in my deepest grief:
- Asked for help when I wasn't coping - not only with life logistics, but support with expressing my feelings too. Asking for help exposes our vulnerability, and its hard for some of us to show that we need something or someone. But sometimes you just can't do it alone.
- When my pain bubbled over to the point it was intolerable, I would stop what I was doing. Be still. And feel everything that was coming up in its rawest and ugliest expression, and let it out. It was scary and embarrassing and overwhelming, but I honoured my emotions in the moment. I didn't bottle them up, I let them go. And the pain in my heart did eventually pass.
- I accepted what happened, even though it sucked and I hated it. I knew I couldn't' change it. I expressed my gratitude, that although my sister's life was short, I still got to experience her in a period of time in my life, an incredible human who taught me so much, and gave me boundless unconditional love.
This is my story of bravery.

It is the process of being in touch with your worthiness and wholeness, regardless of the experiences you may be having. Your true self can only be experienced when there is both knowing of your inherent worthiness, and acknowledgment that your life experiences are separate to you.

COBIE BEVAN😍 She brings light, laughter and a dynamic skillset to Brave Recovery.
She holds a Bachelor of Social Science, Diploma in Mental Health, and a Cert IV in Life Coaching. Her roles as a Mental Health Case Manager, Recovery Coach and NDIS Support Coordinator, has seen her managing participants with significant and acute mental health diagnoses. She began her own consultancy business supporting NDIS participants in 2020.
Her lived experience has given her first-hand expertise in grief, su***de, addiction, childhood trauma, and narcissistic abuse recovery. She has made it her life mission to affect positive change in people on their recovery journeys, supporting both clinical approaches and alternative modalities.
When Cobie is not connecting with her clients, you will find her wrangling her three daughters and French bulldog as a single mother, striving for work/life balance at a yoga class, roller-skating, or at the beach.
A client beautifully coloured this, and when she gave it to me said “I don’t know why but I think this is for you”.
