New Irish Bar opens tonight in Perth ☘️

Free pints, bites and music from 5pm, come on down.

The Temple Bar opens tonight at The Iluka in Perths Northern Suburbs.

The cozy snug is owned by The D’Arcy family, the same Irish family that own Jarrah in Hillarys, Mister D’Arcy in North Beach and the Grafton St. Cafes.

Tonight Friday from 5pm you can join the craic in The Temple Bar at The Iluka.

If your local, you may have frequented a pop up Indian restaurant within the same space but behind the layer of elephants and spiritual ornaments lay bricks, timber and layers of Irish history, whilst the relevant approvals were being sought to operate this beautifully designed Irish Pub.

What’s the new Temple Bar got on offer?

Guinness straight from the Keg, no lines, no technology, straight into the glass. This is now the shortest line in Perth.

Live traditional Irish music on the small stage in the corner.

Old Irish movies on the big screen.

Live sports events on the 5 meter screen with PA sound.

Massive selection of Irish Whiskey.

Sunday roast all day Sunday will bring some wholesome memories.

New Irish food items on the menu. Seafood chowder, leek & potato soup with bacon and cabbage, black pudding, bacon and whiskey board, fish of the day, winner best steak sandwich in WA 23/24, sausage and potato pizza and so much more.

The Broken Pokers Live on stage from 6 to 9pm.

Due to the volume of customers for our famous Sunday roast, we have had to move this monthly event to a slightly later time on Sundays.

Fortunately or unfortunately, we have too many people at the same time on Sundays. This will ensure a more enjoyable experience for everyone.

Thank you so much to one and all for supporting and helping us make The Iluka better.

Lots has happened in Jarrah in 2024

If you know Jarrah well, then you will certainly know our amazing Angel Lin, our original venue manager. Angel opened Jarrah with us almost 5 years ago but you may have noticed that she disappeared almost 9 months ago. Good news, we found her but not alone, she has brought a beautiful baby girl into the world. If you have missed Angel about the place, fret no more, she is back on deck now and will be spreading her wings across Jarrah and The Iluka.

In the other picture, this is our head chef Navneet and her beautiful daughter.

You may remember the news story where we campaigned for Navneet and her family who had been asked to leave Australia due to her daughter’s short term health concerns. Great news! After a long trip to India, Navneet and family are back in Australia and to our delight, she’s also back in Jarrah and The Iluka kitchens, just like Angel. Navneet opened Jarrah as head chef almost 5 years ago.

Lastly but without a pic, I would like to mention the greatest of all delights for 2024 so far. Our Sous chef Amandeep left us in 2023 after many years. He made a difficult decision to leave Australia and return to India to undertake a long cancer treatment to which we only received negative news along the way. With lots of prayers, hope and strength within himself, we are so thankful and proud of this amazing man/chef to have won his battle with this awful disease and has now returned to Australia and to us in Jarrah & The Iluka.

We have really missed Angel, Navneet and Aman and are delighted to have them back as friends and as vital participants in our little hospitality family.

In the absence of all three, we have managed to grow as a business so can welcome all three back in without the compromise of anyone else’s jobs. The old team will now accompany the current team who have done an amazing job in the absence of the original team.

Did you know that we have opened an Indian street food cocktail bar/restaurant in Iluka beside The Iluka Pub.

Perfect old fashioned Sundays can only feel right at Jarrah.

Roast beef or roast chicken with crispy skin, Youkie, beef gravy, stuffing, roasted winter veg, cauliflower cheese.

We are very proud of our beautiful venues but these timeless aesthetics would not have been possible with the creativity of my brother Gareth.

Gar had a long career in the movie business designing, dressing and building sets for many major movies such as James Bond, The Vikings, Ripper Street and many more. Proudly, he has a BAFTA perched in his home here in Perth. He won this award for his works on Penny Dreadful.

Today, along with commercial bars, Gar builds bespoke home bars through his business Origin Bars.
