Last Friday night, we were honoured to receive the 2024 Best Business Award for Best Business with 1- 5 employees. As we entered the event, we had doubts in our minds. How could we possibly win an award amongst so many incredible businesses? With those doubts lingering, we lowered our expectations and, to be honest, even lowered our energy. We didn’t truly consider the possibility of winning any award.

A little backstory: we started 2024 on a high note, but it quickly turned into one of the hardest years in business. After nearly 10 years in this field, I can confidently say this has been the toughest year for me, both personally and professionally. We welcomed our first employees, prepared for my maternity leave, and launched a massive production leading up 2 calendar events Valentine’s Day and mothers Day - all while having our fourth child. Amidst all this, I fell ill with an infection that left me fearing for my life. These experiences stirred up fears, concerns, and doubts to my core and had a rippling affect through out my business. After navigating the ups and downs and saying some bittersweet goodbyes, we reflected on our business, home, and life. With this introspection, we decided to return to basics.

Receiving this award is a testament to the steps we are taking in the right direction. It reminds us that even amidst challenges, perseverance and passion can lead to recognition and success.

I also want to take a moment to recognize the hard work that James does behind the scenes for The Flower Boutique. His dedication and support have allowed me to focus on my creative work, ensuring that we can bring our vision to life. Like all things in life, I have truly found my dream team in him ❤️
