Modern day has us striving for unattainable perfection and overly high expectations. This leads us to feelings of failure and dissatisfaction in our daily lives.
By simplifying our day, getting back to basics and keeping things simple we can take that feeling of "not good enough" off our shoulders and bring achievable back into our way of living.
Little steps and small successes join together to form positive thoughts.

Another successful morning in the community, sitting around the table, discussing strategies that we use to support our mental health if we are feeling blue.

A multitude of blood tests, surgeries, scans and invasive appointments that lead to an emotional rollercoaster of disappointments and hopes. The journey is long and impacts every aspect of the couple, their life and their wellbeing. With or without a baby at the end of the treatment it leaves a mark on you that is never forgotten.
National Infertility Awareness Week® on April 21-27, 2024! and join us as we echo RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association’s lead in helping spread awareness on the impact of and the challenges millions of people face in building a family. is not just a disease but a fight for a dream.

A further suggestion of what you can try in our SIMPLE SELF-CARE STRATEGIES is Strategy # 5 – Contact a Loved One
Social connection is important for everyone – introverts and extroverts and everyone in between.
In the busyness of our lives we can fall out of touch with our loved ones and realise it’s been weeks longer than normal between contact.
A text, an email, a phone call, a letter or card in the mail – something to let them know they are important to you. Whatever you can manage – big or small. These actions help others feel special; knowing they are being thought of.
This strategy is a way of nurturing your social connections and bringing a positive feeling to your day. Give it a go and see how it feels for you.
Cycle after cycle of disappointments then one day it finally happens a BFP (Big Fat Positive)!!
Now what do you do?
Disbelief, elation, fear, excitement........ no no don't let yourself get too happy, you know how fragile pregnancy can be.
Hold your breathe, think positive thoughts, here comes the morning sickness, suck it up.....this is what all those invasive tests, scans and appointments were all for.....BE GRATEFUL.
If you can relate to this and you feel as though you need to debrief about your fertility treatment, have a moment to process the journey you've been through, book a one off 1:1 appointment with Rachael.

A way to ground yourself when noticing an increase to your feeling of distress is to stop and be mindful of what is physically around you.
Notice what you are able to hear, what can you smell, what can you feel on your skin, what can you taste and what can you see.
By connecting with these 5 senses and focusing on the details around you can bring a sense of calm and control to the moment.

Experiencing fertility treatment, a pregnancy that is debilitating, an awful birth, worrying about the health of yourself or loved one, unexpected changes to our plans.......
These are all experiences that can leave us with feelings of disappointment and even trauma. Sometimes these experiences keep bothering us after the event, halting our life story in that moment, leaving us feeling stuck.
Being able to debrief about an experience helps us to move through it.
I am HERE to HEAR what you need to help you feel listened to, validated and understood.
Life challenges are those transitions that change our "plan" and leave us thinking "this was not what I expected"
Talking through thoughts and feelings raised by these challenges can help. I am HERE to HEAR what you need to help you.
