AYLA in Cockburn is a Charity that brings support to the community and individuals who are in need. We ran an in-house winter donation drive and asked staff members to donate any jumpers/ jackets/ blankets they are no longer using. We also asked them to bring in any dried or tinned foods to help with their hampers as they have had an unexpected increase for these.
We were so proud to contribute toward the needs of this amazing charity and they are always grateful for any donations. We look forward to continuing to live our values, and engage with our communities and will be looking at further fundraising over the Christmas period.
Living our value of 'Engage our communities,' the ESM Strata team recently volunteered at helping out in the kitchen and the warehouse. It was an incredibly fulfilling experience to contribute our time and effort to support those in need.

Recently, Jade completed the UWA National Mediation Accreditation System (NMAS) Training and Assessment Course and brought back valuable insights to our team. Along with Maizie, they developed an interactive course featuring role play exercises, allowing the ESM Strata team to practice their newly acquired skills.
This training served as a powerful reminder that behind every interaction are real people with real feelings. Embracing empathy and genuine listening, we strive to create a supportive environment for everyone we work with. We'd like to congratulate ESM Team member, Jade Ignacio on her recent National Mediation Accreditation which she has completed with UWA. Meaningful and effective conflict resolution is crucial in strata management and completion of this course means Jade is eligible for registration with the Mediator Standards Board as a Nationally Accredited Mediator (NMAS). Recently, ESM Strata teamed up with Assisting Your Life To Achieve AYLA Inc. for a fantastic cause! Our Beginnings
In 1975, nearing my 30th birthday in South Africa my wife and I came over to Perth to start our new life with $500, our 2 year old daughter and a suitcase of clothes each. In 1990 I had a property management business and was asked to do some strata management. I am a pedantic and passionate person with a need to know all the details in any profession. I attended courses and realised that there were not many strata specialists in that field. My learning process took about two years and led to me selling my property management business, which gave me the capital to build Exclusive Strata Management (ESM).
In those days, ESM was a small family business and all the staff were an extension of my own family. We all worked together and were willing to go the extra mile for our customers. I enjoyed the opportunities to assist our clients and mediate the numerous issues they faced. My building background allowed me to identify building issues others didn’t see. A unique skill set, empathy and drive to provide top service meant that I could offer a well-rounded and valuable service to strata companies and over the next few years, ESM grew to become WA’s largest specialist strata management business. – Jake Kneebone
