This evening's supermoon is also known as a 'harvest moon', named for its historical timing aligning with the Autumn harvest in North America.
Alongside the harvest moon tonight, you may also be able to view a planet or two without a telescope.

Bureau of Meteorology has confirmed Tropical Cyclone Ilsa has been upgraded to a Category 4 and is expected to cross the WA coast Thursday night or early Friday morning.

A warning zone has been declared for areas south of Broome to Whim Creek, including Port Hedland and extending inland as far as Parnngurr, including Nullagine, Marble Bar and Telfer.

Wind recordings from this morning found sustained winds in Ilsa's centre of up to 165 kilometres per hour and gusts up to 230 kilometres per hour.
