It celebrates Northbridge as the heart and hub of the WA LGBTQIA+ community, with the iconic Northbridge Piazza being the main headquarters of Pride WA.

This week is Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week, a time to celebrate and support people who experience little to no romantic attraction, or who have a different relationship with romance than what society expects. Aromantic people are diverse and valid, and they deserve recognition and respect.

Aromanticism is not a lack of emotion, nor a sign of immaturity or coldness. It is a romantic orientation that describes how someone feels about romance, not their capacity for love or friendship. Aromantic people can still form meaningful bonds with others, and they can have different preferences and identities when it comes to their s*xuality, gender, and relationship style.

WAAC have introduced WA Sexual Health Week (SHW) which goes from 12 to 18 February 2024, and it’s all about “Absolutely Everybody”.
"This theme asks us to think creatively about how we can promote positive and respectful approaches to s*xuality and s*xual relationships while also creating supportive, inclusive, and safe spaces for everyone to achieve positive and enjoyable s*xual health."

Today is World AIDS Day, a day to unite in the fight against HIV and AIDS, to show support for people living with HIV, and to remember those who have died from an AIDS-related illness. It is also a day to raise awareness of the global epidemic of AIDS and the spread of HIV, and to challenge the stigma and discrimination that people living with HIV face every day.

🩷🤍🩵 Happy Transgender Awareness Week!

This week is Transgender Awareness Week, a time to celebrate the diversity and resilience of the trans and gender diverse community, and to learn how to be a better ally to them. Trans and gender diverse people face many challenges and barriers in our society, such as discrimination, violence, stigma, and lack of access to health care and legal recognition. That’s why it’s important to show our support and solidarity, and to stand up against transphobia in all its forms.

One of the ways you can get involved in Transgender Awareness Week is to check out the amazing work of TransFolk of WA, a peer support service for trans and gender diverse people and their loved ones in Western Australia. TransFolk of WA provides online groups, social and support groups, training, events, and resources for trans and gender diverse people, their family and friends, and the wider community. You can find out more about their services and how to join or donate at their website.

Let’s make this week a time to celebrate the beauty and diversity of the trans and gender diverse community, and to commit to creating a more inclusive and safe world for everyone. Happy Transgender Awareness Week!

During this week, we celebrate and raise awareness about as*xuality, an important and often misunderstood aspect of human s*xuality. Being as*xual means experiencing little to no s*xual attraction toward others. It's a valid and inherent part of a person's identity.

Here's what you need to know:
💜 It's a spectrum: As*xuality varies from no s*xual attraction (as*xual) to occasional attraction (gray-as*xual).
💜 Different from celibacy: It's not a choice like celibacy; it's inherent.
💜 Romantic feelings: As*xual people can still experience romantic attraction.
💜 Individual experiences: Each person's experience is unique, from s*x-positive to s*x-repulsed.
💜 Acceptance matters: Let's support and respect as*xual individuals.

Let's foster a more inclusive world where everyone, regardless of their s*xual orientation, can live authentically and proudly!
