Hell Came To London
The book is a journalist's account of the N**i bombing of London in September 1940, when the city faced a huge air assault. The author, Basil Woon wrote this book while the bombs were falling, to show that London was not beaten, but brave. He describes the horror and heroism of the people, especially in the East End, where the poor suffered the most, but also showed resilience and solidarity. He also tells some funny stories that show how British humour survived in the dark times. The book is a personal story of a city under fire, and a tribute to its people who resisted.
