Please note some jobs simply canโt be executed because of the way they were constructed. For example if the garment has no side seams itโs impossible to let it out too much. Thank you,

I once worked on an heirloom wedding gown. It wasfirst made in the 1800โs from French Lace for a Scottish lady and passed down through the generations. The family had a book published with their family history and had photos of each bride wearing the dress.
By the time I had the honour of working on it, the latest bride was so much taller than those before her. I had to tea-dye some suitable lace to match the dress and sew along the hemline to make it longer. I also made an under-gown as a stand-alone piece that she could wear for the reception as the lace part was too precious.
I loved that job so much and the bride and the mother sent me a lovely card to thank me.
When the exhibition of โ100 years of Wedding Gownsโ was in town it was fascinating to see the progression of styles and techniques. But most interestingly the height and shoe size difference. Women now are like giantesses compared with the doll-like proportions of 100 years ago. Must be all the protein we eat now?

Every week we have so many questions from our wonderful clients about the intricacies of starting and producing a product or label. So we thought we would start publishing these online so everyone benefits. Sooo....
Question 1:
"How much does a Tech Pack cost?"
Tech Packs are costed differently dependent on:
โข The design โ level of detail in the garment, size range, whether there are lots of graphics, labelling or hardware requirements;
โข Place of manufacture - off-shore needs more detailed information;
โข Whether you have a pattern or fit sample to take measurements and details from - if we make the pattern it's quicker and easier for us to take accurate measurements and thereโs no guess work (plus you have ownership and better control over the quality of your own patterns!)
โข How much information you provide โ if you know exactly what you want and can provide semi-technical info such as general measurements, all the branding, folding and packaging, pantone colour codes, construction information then thereโs less for us to consider.
For these reasons we really need to see and discuss your project. We can of course help you with all of these aspects.
That being said, the minimum cost for our Tech Packs is $350. Super complex Tech Packs can be up around the $1800 mark.
To put it into perspective thereโs a huge difference in technicality and risk between a baby beanie made for a small MOQ start-up, versus an ARC flash protective uniform for the mine site environment, produced in 1000โs that literally protect peopleโs lives! ๏
If you would like to chat about your project, please let us know by emailing [email protected]

We have recently started working with Elope Bridal here in Perth, Western Australia. The dresses are designed for brides who would like to wear something more versatile on their special day, a dress that can be worn again and again in different contexts.
It would be wonderful if we can get some likes and shares in support of local designers and makers :)
With gratitude,
