Matsukawaso one of the three Matsukawa Hot Springs, is a rare gem among the numerous hot springs baths you'll find around Japan. In the winter time, the open-air bath not only has great views of the mountains with its location right along a river near trailheads up to the summit of Mt. Iwate, but it also has a service offering Japanese sake for bathers!

That's right - for just 500 yen you can but a traditional pitcher of sake, with glasses and a little floating platter to be enjoyed with friends while sitting in the outdoor bath gazing at the snow.

Doesn't get much better than that!
