UPDATE

Today was the day we were very excited...
Unfortunately, we've had to delay our opening by a week due to an issue with a new piece of equipment integral to the production of our pizzas and won't receive a replacement until next week (Wed 18/09).

We know this will be disappointing to all of us, none more so than us, but the integrity of our products, and by extension our customers is our priority. We left this update until today as we've now exhausted all avenues in our attempts to have the issue sorted and not be forced to delay our return, but alas our efforts have failed.

Tippy’s will resume trade from Wednesday 11th of September.

We’re pleased to announce we’ve managed to find a way to recommence operations while allowing for the constraints that forced our decision to close. We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those of you who reached out to us. Come on down and see all the familiar faces and a few new ones.

DEAR CUSTOMERS

It is with great disappointment that we have arrived at the unfortunate decision to cease operations of Tippy's Pizza in Kelmscott as of Monday the 24th June, 2024.

This decision was ultimately arrived at due to an overwhelming accumulation of factors, both personal and business-related, that have left continuing the business in its current form and location untenable. Adding to the disappointment we're feeling about this decision is the inability to celebrate what would've been our upcoming 40th year operating out of Kelmscott.

We want to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to each and every one of our wonderful customers over the years, it's been a pleasure. We understand there will be a tremendous amount of disappointment regarding this decision but please know this was quite a sudden decision and not one we arrived at flippantly, but family always comes first.

However, we haven't abandoned the business entirely. Keep an eye on this page for updates as they progress.

This year has at times thrown its challenges at us and surely everyone else but we’re all still here. 💪🏻

Hello Everyone,

Unfortunately, due to supply shortages caused by the train derailment, we were unable to acquire sufficient product to produce and supply pizzas this week. Consequently we have no alternative than to have a brief, unplanned hiatus.

We have been urged by our suppliers that we should have everything we need available next week. While we tried to source the products elsewhere, we discovered the same issue is affecting alternate wholesalers and suppliers as well.

We apologise to anyone who is affected by this and cant stress that we are more disappointed by this outcome than anyone.

Dear valued customers,

We have come to the conclusion that we no longer wish to utilise Menulog or any other platform providing the same service.

We have worked hard this year in particular, to improve our product quality/consistency and always pride ourselves on taking care of our clientele. Unfortunately we’ve reached the decision that the negative impact of Menulog’s inconsistent, sometimes downright awful delivery service, the impact that the demands of their system places on our numerous/majority in-store customers’ orders and the exorbitant commissions they deduct from our sales, we will cease to allow Menulog to offer our products effective immediately.

We believe the hits that their services have upon our proud reputation, a reputation that has been cultivated over numerous decades, the negligible, if any, profits netted from our Menulog sales, our inability to help customers as they are no longer buying from us (merely our products), the customers’ understandable frustrations upon hearing this when they reach out to us, the cancelled orders due to inordinate wait times (leaving unclaimed orders/wasted product), orders never arriving and the increased burden it puts on our production line, there is no alternative but cease using Menulog.

Unfortunately, for the same reason we ceased delivering pizzas from our store several years ago, we will not be implementing a delivery service in its place. We are barely coping with the in-store sales as it is and sadly, merely hiring more personnel will not alleviate our pressure (ovens can only cook so fast).

We are grateful to those that embraced our attempts to utilise Menulog’s service and apologise sincerely to anyone inconvenienced by this decision. However, we look forward to getting the opportunity to meet you all when you come in to collect your pizzas from now on and are excited to provide an even more consistent level of service to you all.

STORE COVID UPDATE:

We have had a high number of our staff forced into isolation due to Covid related protocols over the past week and going forward. As a result we are running our store on very limited numbers which may result in longer than usual wait times and other potential inconveniences. This is particularly relevant during peak times, especially on the busier nights (weekend nights).

We’ve really appreciated your patience over the past weekend and continued patience while we work through these challenges.
