Day -1 and UWSC is excited to have such amazing representation at the 2024 Paris Olympics with both current and former Club members representing both Australia and the Maldives. We wish all competitors the very best for their upcoming events and celebrate their achievement in representing their respective Countries.

As we prepare to celebrate the start of the 2024 Paris Olympics, UWSC is proud to recognise our more recent Olympians as well as our Olympic Team Coaches. Congratulations to all our past club members who have represented Australia.

It’s so important to recognise the dangers associated with water, and not just for kids!

Anyone can drown, no one should! 💙🌊

World Drowning Prevention Day is held on Thursday 25 July and provides an opportunity for everyone to reflect on what they can do to protect themselves from drowning.

Drowning is among the leading causes of death for young people aged 1-24. Every small step we take can help save lives.

UWA Sport are offering the Water Awareness Program to encourage confidence in swimming and water safety activities, educating on water safety and safe swim skills.

At the end of the program, you will have a greater understanding of your own water safety and how to help others.

It’s getting very exciting as we count down to the Paris 2024 Olympics, swimming with Josh Yong and the Australian Dolphins!

Celebrating today the “class of 2004” - the UWSC Athens Olympians. The Athens Olympics had UWSC’s greatest representation on the Australian Dolphins Swimming Team. The team also included Todd Pearson who we recognised on the 13th July as a Sydney debutant. Congratulations to our swimmers who competed at Athens, with both Eamon and Katrina going on to two more Olympics after Athens.

Today we honor our debut Olympians from Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000, celebrating their achievements and the proud legacy of UWSC.

Today as we count down to the Paris Olympics, we celebrate our debuting Barcelona Olympians and their remarkable achievements. For those who remember, the beautiful ‘Amigos Para Siempre (Friends for Life)’ and the stunning views from the Piscina Municipal de Montjuic overlooking the city of Barcelona undoubtedly inspired a generation of swimmers.

Our UWSC Club Night is in full swing - it’s great to see so many club members at the pool during the winter holidays, gaining great experience ahead of the Short Course State championships coming up over the next few months.

What a successful week for Javi in Spain! - Gold medallist in his age group for the 400m, 800m an d1500m Freestyle, as well as Silver in the 200m Fly and a finals swim for the 400mIM - and to top it off, PB swims in both 400 events & the 800. Congratulations to Javi and to coach Rob Palfrey - fantastic results at international competition level!

OLYMPIC TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT
Aishath Ulya Shaig - Maldives 🇲🇻

Congratulations to UWSC swimmer Ulya, who has been selected to represent the Maldives in Paris 2024, following her recent performances in Qatar (world Championships) the Philippines and Singapore.

Ulya has been training in Perth under Coach Rob Palfrey since early 2023.

Wishing Javier all the best as he hits the water today in sunny Mallorca, competing in the Spanish Open Swimming Championships, which is the Olympic selection event in Spain. Everyone at UWSC is cheering you on from afar! Go Javi!!!
