10 Year Anniversary - Sharon - 9 February 2024
Sharon, who joined Centrecare on 12 March 2012, as an Accounting Assistant in the Finance Department, has been an invaluable member of the Finance Team.
Over the years, Sharon has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in various aspects of bookkeeping and accounting and has been instrumental in achieving the finance team’s objectives.
Two notable achievements include the implementation of debit cards across our branches and the initiation of a Low-Value Pool asset register for the agency. Her most recent accomplishment involved recording all leases of the agency's motor vehicles (currently standing at 65) as 'Right of Use Assets' in compliance with the Australian Accounting Standards.
Sharon's pleasant demeanour, calm disposition, and unwavering focus make her an invaluable asset to Centrecare. Her professionalism and attention to detail are evident in her work ethic, as she willingly tackles challenges and resolves account reconciliation issues within the finance area.
We are grateful to have Sharon as part of the Finance Team and recognise her dedication and contributions.
Congratulations Sharon.
10 Year Anniversary - Katrina Baker - 2 February 2024
Katrina is the warm, welcoming face at the front reception at our Bunbury office who greets you with a smile when you walk through those doors.
But Katrina's contributions to the Bunbury office go far beyond just being the friendly face at reception. From handling room bookings and maintenance repairs to supporting management with reports and organising staff functions, Katrina wears many hats.
Katrina is also Bunbury’s go-to person when staff accidentally set off the office alarm or lock themselves out of the building which has been very much appreciated by all Bunbury staff over the years.
Katrina’s dedication, hard work and unwavering support have not gone unnoticed. She truly embodies the values of Centrecare and in the words of her Executive Manager Evelyn Tui, “we're incredibly lucky to have you as part of our family”.
Congratulations Katrina.
10 Year Anniversary - Belle Toy - 29 January 2024
Belle Toy commenced working with Centrecare in January 2013, when she joined as a Counsellor at our Mirrabooka office. Since then, she's had a significant impact on the lives of countless clients.
In 2020, Belle made a transition to the role of Family Advisor in Midland. She then decided to pursue a career as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, undertaking studies at the College of Law.
Currently based out of our Midland office within the Family Relationship Centre, Belle continues to be a beacon of support and compassion for those navigating difficult times. Belle's commitment to her clients and her dedication to her work has not gone unnoticed, with her outstanding contributions being recognised in 2022 when she was awarded Employee of the Year—a testament to her hard work and the positive impact she has on those around her.
Ask anyone who's had the pleasure of working alongside Belle, and they'll tell you she's not only incredibly professional but also genuinely kind and caring. She approaches every situation with compassion and understanding, providing a comforting presence during some of her client’s toughest moments.
Congratulations Belle.
Today is International Women’s Day and an opportunity to celebrate the significant contribution that women all over the world make to their various societies and communities. There is too little focus and recognition given to the influence women have had in the fields of physics, medicine, education, law, social science, economics, politics, family life and community engagement. Their substantial contribution in all these fields are greatly underplayed and unrecognised.
Many societies still exclude girls from educational systems and impose unfair and unwarranted expectations on them. These impositions restrict their development, curtail their self-expression and restrain their ability to contribute to the wider society both as social and economic agents. This is an incredible loss both to them and their societies.
Our community still struggles to bridge the gender pay gap, stop domestic violence, provide women specific health services and support those women struggling to raise families on their own. It labours to express its recognition of women’s contribution in all fields and underplays the importance of those areas of work where women dominate.
The importance given to male endeavour and masculine characteristics in our society ensures that women and feminine traits are devalued and suppressed. We fail to recognise and admit that those feminine traits of leadership, care, nurturing, and connection are at the heart of any truly successful society. To devalue women, and what they so clearly represent, is to devalue what is fundamental to our humanity.
To all women. Thanks for who you are, what you do and what you help us to understand.
