We are getting ready for our annual Quiz Night fundraiser and are accepting any donations, with funds raised going towards our club upgrades, the future of diamonds sports and our members.

Donations can be new goods, services or even vouchers and will be used to raise much needed funds. Hampers can be made up with multiple items so even if you have a small item, it would be very much appreciated.

Baseball Weekend Ahead

We are starting tonight at the Ball Park with a Swan Districts Baseball Club State League Reserves game, head down for a 6.30pm game to watch the team.

Then we have all teams on Saturday and Sunday on the road, trying to bounce back from some hard games and finishing with a massive Monday night of Little League and Machine Pitch at home.

Also a quick reminder to not park too close to Andy Maher Field as last week we did have a windscreen lose a battle with a foul ball in Little League.

Baseball Weekend Results

We had some absolute heartbreakers on the weekend with a couple teams unable to hold their lead and went down in the last innings in some great displays of baseball.

A very big shout out to Jackson Pollard for pitching a complete game in the State League Reserves over the weekend, during their 8 to 3 win over Vic Park!

The Pony girls started strong on Sunday with a close score against Braves but unfortunately couldn't hold on in the end but the girls are improving with every game.

Our Sub-Junior program has been going very well.

The 3- and 4-year-olds learn the fundamental skills, mixing with new friends and having fun.

Thank you, too, to all the parents for helping out each week.

Looking forward to seeing you all again tomorrow after last week's heatwave.

A huge thank you to our dads (and mums - we just caught some (but not all) of the dads in the act this week) who head out every week and mark the diamonds so we can play.

Marking diamonds is a messy, relentless and oftentimes thankless task.

We know who you all are and we thank you for your dedication to allow our players to play every week. You all rock 🤘

Baseball Weekend Results

It was an interesting weekend with some hot weather on the Saturday, meaning the ILs game was cancelled and the other Saturday teams battling well in the heat. The Saturday LL team, fresh our of their first exhibition rounds got the win on the road.

Our senior teams were hit and miss over the Sunday but D Grade got their first win of the season and what a win it was!

The Pony Girls were close on Sunday going down by 3, with the players coming back into the game with some great hits. Unfortunately, their Wednesday night game was cancelled at the Ball Park but they will get another chance to play in December.

Monday night was much cooler with the LL teams on the road, facing new clubs and players, getting some hits and making some great plays. Our MP teams were at home and both got the wins with some impressive home runs from players.

What a difference a week can make! We beat last year's premiers on a very hot 38 degree day.

In the first innings the girls were very disciplined in the batting box with taking as many walks as we could, resulting in a handy lead. We then hit when the ball was there to be hit and were solid in the field.

Special shout outs to Nelly for pitching the entire game along with Em supporting her from behind the plate.

Kids love to mirror behaviours of those they admire the most - sporting stars definitely.

While we might not all be a sports star, our younger players look up to those people who are closest to them and follow what they do. And yes, that means you!

Actions speak louder than words, so show your peers and our players that you support our club, and you support our members to be the best they can be, whether that be:
* demonstrating good sportsmanship both on the diamond and from the sidelines
* looking after yourself by eating well, demonstrating a responsible attitude to alcohol, smoking and other drugs
* supporting the mental and physical wellbeing of all players and their clubmates.

Pony Girls League game tonight at Baseball Park is unfortunately cancelled.

The team will have another chance for a game at the Ball Park on the 14th December.

All divisions of Little League up to Senior League are under the Swan Hills Aces baseball charter. All junior baseball players are encouraged to sign up for try outs and give it a go.

Unfortunatley due to the currenty heat wave all tee-ball games saturday and friday have been CANCELLED.
This decision is never made lightly and after reviewing the heat policy the decision was made.

Each year we encourage our players to try out for State Champs teams that play across the Easter Long weekend and for the older groups, usually the weekend after.

For the teams that make the top 2 of their age group at the tournament they qualify to travel to play at Nationals and the winning team at Nationals travels to the US!

Baseball Weekend Results

We had most teams on the road last weekend, unfortunately most coming up short, despite some great baseball and fightbacks in the games, with some close contests going down in walk offs.

We have seen some great baseball and lots of laughs over the weekend, with some players getting their first hits in LL and MP and a grand slam in South 3!

We have our first joint training session with Swan Districts Baseball Club at Maida Vale Reserve on Thanksgiving so what better way to celebrate than a roast beef and turkey!

Due to illness we were down to the bare 9 and no coach against a very strong side.
It was our biggest defeat this season but not one player gave up, they all kept smiling, and they gave it their all.

We will keep at it, keep training and improving.

We had a good win 17-10 against royals. Played under the lights on D1. We started off strong and by the 3rd dig we were 12-2 ahead, a couple of really good hits from royals bought the score a bit closer. We had an injury in the 2nd to last dig which meant our scorer had to play but one of the lovely SemsA ladies stepped in to take over the scoring for us for which we were very grateful for. It was a well played, enjoyable game.

You might have seen or heard the news regarding the new food safety protocols that come into effect in December. Well, because we have a canteen—and with the awesome menu we offer—these new rules apply to our club.

So what does it mean?

It means everyone who handles food in our canteen needs to have undertaken food handler training.

Our committee have been hard at work understanding all the new rules and getting all the back-of-house checklists and additional training requirements completed and we strongly recommend any of our volunteers who help at the service counter to also undertake the food handler training. It really is not that hard: most of the information is common sense, and you may learn a few things you weren't aware of before.

There are several places where the training training can be undertaken for free. And it doesn't take that long: think minutes, not hours.
