Do you only hire furniture for weddings💒?

JENN'S ANSWER
That would be a 'heck no!' 😵

It's true, weddings keep us out of trouble at weekends, but private + corporate events make up a large portion of our workload. This could be a Birthday Party🎂, Product Launch Event, Business Sundowner 🍷, Awards Celebration, or a Corporate Gala Dinner🌟 - just to name a few.

GOLD CANDLE TOWERS 🕯🕯🕯

Perfect for grand ballrooms and venues with high ceilings. They're pictured here at as part of this year's Swan Valley Wedding Open Day.

Each tower has 10 candle sticks with long-burning candles. All candles are enclosed in a glass sleeve.

The highest candle stick soars to 1.8m.

How far in advance should I book my furniture?

JENN'S ANSWER

I don't think it's about how far ahead you should book your furniture with us, it's more about booking with us once you know what you want.

The time from submitting a quote to paying a deposit can take a few weeks - sometimes longer. Your quote is valid for 14 days but the stock is always reserved for you if we're chatting back and forth.

If we don't hear from you for a while or you've not responded to our follow up emails, then you risk the stock being released and booked by someone else.

If you know what you want, then it makes sense to book with us straight away.

We make it as easy as possible:)

Choosing the right furniture for your wedding or event should be an exciting part of event planning - but I might be a bit biased!

If this is your first rodeo at event planning + design, here are our top tips to help you find your most trusted hire furniture supplier;

😀 Have a chat with the event or wedding coordinator at your venue. Find out who they like to work with and who they would recommend. They will be a wealth of knowledge and experience.

😀 Reach out to the supplier and start a conversation. Do they reply in a timely manner? Can you easily understand their quote? Arrange a meeting to look at their inventory.

😀 Ask your other vendors such as photographers and florists. The wedding industry in Perth is very small and we all know each other in some way or another. We love any opportunity to brag about our favourite wedding businesses!

ANSWER

Absolutely! To ensure that you don't get run over by a fork-lift or we're out setting up and event, visits to our warehouse are by appointment only.

Appointments can be made via our website or the old-fashioned phone:)

The Seminar welcomed participants from across the State, with a full program tailored specifically to the needs of Local Governments.

Q - Do you have a showroom? Can I come and look at your furniture?

A - That would be a 'heck yeah' from us. We understand that choosing the right furniture to meet you style + budget can be difficult without seeing the items in the flesh. Sometimes you just need to sit on a chair to know if it's as comfortable as it looks.

While you are welcome to visit, our warehouse is a flurry of activity 7 days a week, so we've made it easy for you to make a time to visit.

There's a link in our bio where you can book a Warehouse Walkthrough. Pick a date and time, and let us know if there is anything in particular you'd like to see, and we'll have it ready for you.

Planning your wedding or event in winter can seems like a chore - it's cold and wet, and it's nicer to be by the fire with a glass of red.

BUT - winter is actually the perfect time to be planning your wedding or party. Here's the top 5 things you could be doing during winter;

☔ Do your vendor research. Still looking for the perfect photographer, celebrant etc? Now is the time to dig deep and gather all the info you need to find your dream team.

☔Due to the lower number of weddings during winter, venue staff will have more time to show you around. Book those site visits and find your perfect location for your ceremony/ reception / party 🥳

☔ Dress Shopping aka THE DRESS. The perfect indoor activity.

☔ Guest list. Start a nice fresh spreadsheet and gather all the important info you need to send your invitations - Names + Addresses. Better still, delegate this to your mum/dad/someone in your bridal party!!

☔ Design your invitations. Custom-designed or off the rack, now is a great time to delve deep into fonts, colour palettes and paper samples.

As we head into the slow and steady part of the event year, I've been able to catch my breath and think about our last 12 months of business.

You'll not often see my big mug on socials - you don't really need to know what I ate for breakfast or what manta I say in the mirror every morning 😱- BUT I am the person behind this beautiful business and I wanted to say 'Thank You'.

Winter has finally arrived and we're working through all our outdoor wedding ceremonies over the next few months, and checking on the wet-weather plans. We're so lucky here in Perth, that we still get many beautiful sunny days in winter, but it still does rain and get a bit chilly.

Selecting the right furniture for your winter wedding is essential. Some of our furniture is a bit precious and likes to be kept dry and snug, but some of our items such as the Paris chairs in this image, can take a bit of moisture and can be dried very easily in the case of a quick shower before your ceremony!

Hey there! Thanks so much for taking the time to check out my page. My name is Jenn Veza and I am the owner of The Original Event Company. My story is simple and started back in 2006 when I founded our sister company, The Original Wedding Company.
After years of sourcing beautiful and original furniture and styling pieces for my clients, I found myself with a warehouse full of fabulousness that needed to be shared. In 2018, I opened the doors to everyone who wanted to have a stylish event and thus founded The Original Event Company.
