Wheel pose (chakrasana / urdhva dhanurasana) is a strong, challenging backbend. It has a high level of physical demand, but what can we actually LEARN from the posture?✨ Patience:It takes time to get into physically deep postures like this! In the era of instant gratification, it often shocks us if we can’t do things straight away. But each time we practice, we can slowly get closer and closer, one step at a time.✨ Bravery and confidence:It’s extremely common to fear going upside down, even more so in the form of a deep backbend. Bringing wheel pose into our movement vocabulary allows us to face those fears, helping us find bravery and an inner strength.✨ Persistence and determination:Wheel pose is usually quite hard to access when you’re new to yoga. It doesn’t come easily to us, unless you’ve already developed a high level of spinal and shoulder mobility. It takes consistent effort and practice to make any headway. If we try the pose once and then don’t try again for another year, it’s unlikely that we’ll have made any progress at all. If we persist and work towards it daily, we will get closer towards the pose.
