We need your help to keep going!

We are calling out to all of our supporters to help us. We need your help to keep going. As it stands now, our regular outgoing costs and multiple unexpected high veterinary bills for the dogs currently in rescue (over 75 at the moment) has hugely overtaken the funds coming in. With abandoned dogs and surrenders continuing to come in at an ever increasing rate paired with adoptions being so slow because of the housing crisis, we just can’t keep up.

We have never threatened to close our doors or stop taking on dogs even in the hardest times, because there are always dogs in desperate need of saving, but now we are at a breaking point and we need your help!

We need to raise a large sum of money - about $50,000! - to be able to get back on our feet and continue our work and pay off our vet bills. We are a completely volunteer and charity organisation that gets no government support. We are funded completely from the donations of generous donations from folks just like you.

If you’re able to donate any amount at all, you would be helping to save not only dogs but the rescue itself so please please please dig deep and help us continue on.

After arriving at DFL, dear Rusty didn't have the easiest run finding his forever home. He had multiple carers, lots of meets, a failed adoption... but his luck changed when his last carers chose to adopt him permanently ❤️

We were sad but warmed to receive this special message from Rusty's family. Thank you for giving him the loving home he needed. We remember Rusty "Little Ears" fondly. 🥹

"Last week we farewelled our beautiful boy Rusty over the rainbow bridge. We are absolutely heartbroken, we have lost a loved family member.

DFL entrusted us with fostering Rusty 7 years ago and a year later we adopted him and we never looked back.

In that time he welcomed 2 human siblings into his life and he adored them no doubt. We couldn't have asked for a better dog with our kids.

We have some fun memories with Rusty and he will live on forever in our hearts."

OPERATION has started!!
The animal shelters in WA are overflowing. Adoption rates are at an all time low.
GOSAC has created operation (Thank you Paul Joshua for the idea and support!!!), encouraging pizzerias to team up with rescue groups.
Today Hilton Pizza joined Desperate for Love Dog Pound Rescue.
When you order your next pizza, you might find a flyer on the box with a cute furball who is looking for a home.
How can you help?
