As the temperature drops many of you may be turning your Pool Heat Pump ON, it is also the perfect time to be making sure your heat pump works efficiently.
In this post is some YEAR ROUND TROUBLESHOOTING FOR YOUR HEAT PUMP….
Like everything else, pool ownership involves a fair bit of tech these days, & it might not always run smoothly. There’s often a simple solution to what looks like a complex problem & that’s where we can help. Before you tear your hair out, we’ll run through some common issues, possible causes & potential fixes for pool equipment problems.
Heat Pumps use a heat transfer principle, drawing heat from surrounding air & using a heat exchanger to warm water as it flows through the pump & back out into the pool. It’s a great bit of technology that can add weeks or months to your swimming season but, sometimes things may go wrong, so we take a look at some common issues and potential causes.
Be sure to consult a qualified electrician or pool professional if necessary.

🤦🏼‍♀️⛈️When heavy rain is forecast we Suggest …⛈️🤦🏼‍♀️
• Backwashing & rinsing media filters to minimise water in the pool or lowering water level if you have waste provsions on a cartridge filter
•Adding additional Chlorine… an average pool requires 1kg of Swim Clear
•If Drainage is problematic sandbag around the pool or pool equipment to divert water away….
• Electric/Robotic Pool Cleaners should be removed from the pool & stored in a dry or undercover area.
• If pool pumps are low lying they should be raised, protected & turned off - where possible the amount of rising water on a pool pump should be minimised.

In-SPA-ration is it time to drain your Spa?
Over time, the water in your spa or swim spa can become dirty, cloudy & full of harmful bacteria. Changing the water regularly is essential for maintaining a hygienic and pleasant soaking experience.

• Start by running Swirl Away through the pipes
Over time, oily film & contaminants build up on the inside of your spa plumbing system potentially causing problems with water flow through the jet nozzles and circulating contaminants even after draining and refilling. This is why it is important to start your water change by running a Swirl Away through your system.
•Once your spa has run with the Swirl Way & you are ready to drain the water, locate the power source & turn the power off completely. Running the spa without water can damage the jets, always make sure the water is never below any of the jets while it is running
•Next, you want to locate the drain on your spa pool and remove the drainage cap. It will be in different places for different spas, but generally, you will find it towards the bottom of your spa. Attach a hose to the drain to divert the water down a drain. Be gentle while twisting the hosepipe onto the connector as most are made of plastic and are prone to breaking. The more downhill you run the water the quicker it will drain. You can also use a small submersible pump.
•Remove your spa filters to clean them thoroughly before putting them back to use. Dirty filters introduce contaminants into a newly cleaned spa pool. You can remove your spa’s filters either before or after all the water is drained.
•Before you can refill your spa pool, make sure you clean the interior surface thoroughly. Use a Spa sponge or Spa glove cloth with Squeaky Clean. Now is a good time to inspect the surface of the spa for any damage.
•Make sure all drainage caps are back securely and start refilling your spa it assists to refill spa direct down into the filtration area this helps eliminate trapped air bubbles within the spa system, potentially causing problems with your jets and other parts of the system.
• Once full it’s time to Sanitise & Balance your Spa Water

It’s the end of daylight savings ..... don’t forget whilst your changing clocks, to change the timer on your pool system this means running at the moment from 9.00am -4.00pm and depending on your chlorine levels running your chlorinator at 60%..... for questions or assistance in changing your times please do not hesitate to contact us on 4601 2810.

Pools have severely been affected by the 200mm of Rain falling in the last 24 hours if your pool has filled with mud or heavy brown sediment ….
Turn your pool system OFF ASAP & a Swim Clear & Water Sparkle treatment will need to be conducted ….
OR If your pool has turned GREEN, keep your pool system running on manual with regular cleaning of your filter adding a Swim Clear & Phoskill Treatment is essential.
