We are a local not for profit charity. We are all volunteers, including our therapeutic team. We believe victim survivors are worthy of top class support, regardless of their socio-economic status. Everything we offer is no cost to victim survivors.

This mini series, Raising Voices, is on Netflix. It is very confronting and it is activating on many levels with many types of sexual trauma explored.

It is brilliant.

It is Spanish in origin with English dubbed over, quite smoothly for the most part. It finishes where it starts and as a result, the last scene is just so powerful.

It is well worth watching, if you can get through it.

It is sad that in our country we don’t openly talk about sexual trauma and its impact, and the topic, the reality, is still so shrouded in secrecy.

Secrecy that only continues to shame victim survivors.

One day, maybe we will be more comfortable talking about the uncomfortable so that we can protect and support victim survivors.

Here, we are very comfortable talking about the reality and advocating for victim survivors.

It’s our calling.

I’d like to give a massive shout out to my dear friend, Kylee, who also owns Hair There And Everywhere by Kylee in York Street, Tahmoor.

Kylee and I sat next to each other at a WWIB Leadership Breakfast years ago now, when I was dying my own hair, and explained why I shouldn’t be lol.

I started seeing her at her salon and I’m sure she regretted that conversation. Long blonde dreads, now short brunette dreads, but much healthier for prioritising the care of my hair.

Kylee has done my updos for important occasions since then. And she ALWAYS does an amazing job and I leave feeling and looking beautiful. My hair is always complimented - no easy feat with unruly and often uncooperative dreads.

I did not get a photo with her on Sunday and I’m devastated about that so she’s stuck with me in her life a bit longer 😉

I am sitting here alone at my kitchen table. A few tears. Some overwhelm. Possibly some numbness. Processing today. And the whole thing of the Institute to be honest.

We have been running since the beginning of Covid lockdowns in NSW. Was that 2021? Or 2020? F**k my trauma brain 😉

We have supported a lot of victim survivors and a lot of people just calling for one off advice or to just say what they needed to say out loud.

The High Tea fundraisers for us pay our insurances and cover a few other memberships and small things. All of us are volunteers. All of us work. Except for me, everyone has a family they look out for too. None of us receive a wage and I want that to change. Desperately.

I can’t keep doing what I’m doing for free. I don’t think the others can either.

So, I am very grateful to and for all of the people who came and or bought raffle tickets and or sent apologies and or thought of us today.

I still have a dream that one day we will be completely unnecessary.

I have grown and healed so much. I’m ready for the next phase of my life to begin. I finally realise I’m worthy of everything that I want.

We had a beautiful healing circle last night - accessing our deepest wound through shadow Scorpio. So much symmetry amongst those present. Absolutely beautiful night of vulnerability, connection and peace.

Healing Heart Seeds

It becomes easy to stay where we are for long periods of time. I was listening to Dr Rangan Chatterjee yesterday, and he was talking about how fast time goes and how we become distracted away from the things we enjoy.

What is a Full Moon Healing Circle?

Each month there is a full moon, sometimes two, and women gather in circle to share, to laugh, to cry, and to release, all that no longer serves them. It is a sacred, safe space where soul connection and soul healing is prioritised.

And, this year, Kristin from Healing Heart Seeds, will complete each circle with a sacred cacao ceremony.

What is a Sacred Cacao Ceremony?

It is said the longest journey one makes is from the mind to the heart. We spend so much time in our own heads stressing and worrying. The gentle medicine of sacred cacao brings us back to our heart space. Sitting in a sacred chocolate ceremony is a generous gift to yourself that raises your frequency and nourishes your soul with love and serenity.

What a way to end a full moon release.

Huge apologies and much love from me …

I feel like such a fool. I have had chronic annoyance in my right knee and left leg for too long. Horrible pain, at times. In recent weeks, struggling to stand sometimes, to sit, to lie, to walk.

A few weeks ago, I finally made an appointment with the osteo that I swear by, and I saw her this morning. I have walked out with a looser body and significantly less pain and I have realised, as I’ve walked around, how debilitating this has been for me.

I was driving away, a slight headache emerging, because my body almost feels normal and has released a fair bit, and I’m wondering why I left it for so long; what was I wanting to hold onto. Ugh.

At the end of last year, dying from exhaustion 🤭 I had the massive pleasure of being interviewed by Kylie Pinwill from The Hormone Hub - Perimenopause and Menopause Support.

I listened to this on the way to work this morning and it was an interesting listen followed by reflection.

I had recently had my intensive EMDR experience. Two months on and I could see that the transition space I’m currently in, a very lonely and sad space, is actually me integrating my healing.

My current story is I am worthy of more.

This has never consistently been my story and it has never been believed by me in every single aspect of my being like it currently is.

I am worthy of more than I’ve ever accepted. I don’t know where this current pain slash transition will lead me but I am trusting the journey now.

Lord knows, I haven’t been.

Episode 106: Healing from Trauma Some conversations are hard. They are crucial but often swept under the rug. Joining me today is Tina from the Blue Butterfly Institute, a true survivor and beacon of strength.

The space is definitely coming together. It has a beautiful soft energy. Just being there today brought a smile into my heart.

Nothing is ever done alone though.

He who shall not be named helped me move the big furniture in after taking me to the doctors after I split my head open. Yep. I’m that person now.

And then my good friend, Kylee, from Hair There And Everywhere by Kylee, donated her Sunday to me helping me put the furniture together.

Emma and Kristin visited and kept us/me company.

I am excited for this evolution of my business and myself.

Heavens. When your own words, written two years ago, are made pretty and rediscovered, slapping you mercilessly in the face 😂.

After two and a bit years back in teaching after the pandemic, I have found the courage to shift direction and to reopen my business.

It is a grown and more self-aware Tina who emerges. I am further along, significantly, in my own healing journey, and beyond grateful for the time I took to consciously continue the work. And I have almost completed my Masters in Counselling; two more units to go.

I have secured a space in Picton and will be reopening in a couple of weeks. I am beyond excited.

I am updating my services and forms and blah blah blah. I will share more soon …

One thing for sure about me: I walk the talk.

Lived experience.
Academic knowledge.
Strong soul and spirit.

I am reopening my business this year.

2023 was a big one. So many of us felt it. I believe strongly it was the final year in a four year cycle for me and this year is the year to reclaim myself. Again. Lol.

Teaching is behind me. My Masters placement is behind me. Life is in front of me.

I will officially reopen in February. This will give me time to modify what needs to be modified. And to refine my services.

Something exciting that is coming, is my own podcast where we will talk all things trauma. I’m interested in people’s stories and having conversations.

Part of the impact of sexual trauma is the carrying of shame arising from not feeling heard or sage to share.

The Cocoon is a safe space to share and feel heard and be seen.

The support groups are monthly, supported by a Messenger thread and facilitated in three spaces.

I feel called to gather with like minds for August Super Full Moon just before Imbolc, the coming of Spring, on Friday, 4th August.

It is an Aquarian full moon, activating profound change. We will connect with this energy, and the energy of renewal for Imbolc, release all that will not serve us moving forward, and be treated to a sacred cacao ceremony with Kristin.

As an adult, life is full of responsibilities. Too many responsibilities.

You know what we are talking about … all of those serious tasks and jobs that need to be done.

We don’t make the time to play and create and laugh anymore.

Can you remember the last time you had the opportunity to be silly?

When was the last time you had fun, let go of being an adult and stopped being serious.

I know … we aren’t supposed to do that.

But do you know, it’s actually really good for your well-being to nurture your inner child … Just enjoying light hearted silliness and joy without feeling ashamed is therapeutic.

Not only is it hard for us “serious adults” to look after our well-being, because we are so time poor and have too many responsibilities, and throw kids into the mix and BOOM 💥 even less time!

Agnes has noticed, as a mum of 3, that it’s so easy to become time poor. And when we are, we forget about our mental state and well-being. And on top of that, it becomes harder to spend quality time with our kids.

Her 16 year old daughter has asked to do something special with her on several occasions, without her brothers. And Agnes tries to do this as often as she can. But …

Tina doesn’t have kids (well, not the two legged kind) but she is always juggling lots of different balls as a result. She also doesn’t make enough time to do the things that bring her joy. She is also time poor and always has buts …

Actually, no more buts.

It was a beautiful Circle last night; an appropriate return after a three month break. The new format worked well and we had fun amidst the tears and release.
