Kermond’s Hamburgers will be closed tomorrow as we honour the life of Timothy Tanner.

As we celebrate the incredible life of Tim, we ask that you raise a toast to an absolute legend that was taken far too soon.

This week the Kermonds Hamburgers Family lost not only one of our owners but also a son, a friend, a brother, a mentor and a leader.

Tim Tanner first joined Kermonds as a young man, whose love for the business led to dreams of becoming an owner, and one day expanding it, which he managed to achieve, in his amazing 43 years of life.

In a strange sense of irony, while growing up in Warrnambool, Tim lived part of his young life on the same street as our founder John Kermond and his family on Belmore Road.

Tim loved to travel, loved a road trip, and made friends wherever he went, whether it be in Warrnambool, during his time living in the UK, Geelong or Sydney.

While he loved his work at Kermonds, it was one of many passions Tim had, and his zest for life was infectious to anyone who came to know him.

He was humble, was happy to go about his business while enjoying many pleasures he had in life including playing music, reading and writing Japanese literature, and anything else ranging from history to mathematics, politics, business and surfing.

It was never uncommon to see one of Tim's prized motorbikes parked out the front of his beloved Geelong store, either his Harley, Ducati or MV Augusta.

Those of you who visited Kermonds in Geelong, may have been lucky enough to see one of Tim's acoustic guitars close to the grill, and if you were lucky may have witnessed him playing the likes of Pearl Jam, Lewis Capaldi, James Bay, even Ed Sheeran or Damian Rice.

Tim, we can't imagine our lives without you, and while you have left far too early, we know you will be at peace, either at a beach with your customary coffee and toasted sandwich or with your surfboard close by.

Our thoughts are with the entire Tanner Family during this unbelievably hard time, and we are determined to continue his legacy at Kermonds, long into the future.

At Kermond's we take great pride in the fact that we have been serving our delicious burgers to our most loyal customers for well over 70 years now!

Especially when our customers are as adorable as this little man, Mr Harry Morris, aged 2. Gorgeous picture snapped almost 9 years ago!

To think that we will be opening our third store in Port Fairy in just a matter of weeks makes us even more proud!

JOB VACANCIES

Kermonds is a five-star burger establishment that has been running since 1949.

Currently, we are looking for Full time, Part-time, Casual positions, after school Traineeships (Cert 3 in Hosp.), or Gap year students.

No experience is required but applicants must be 15 years and over.

Duties include
- Cooking & Food prep
- Cash sales
- Customer service

Most staff currently work 10-15 hours a week.

We are also opening in Port Fairy soon, and are looking to train people who are available to work in Port Fairy.

All levels and abilities are welcome to apply.

Kermonds operate seven days, 363 days a year and individuals must be able to work weekends.

Staff are paid according to the Casual Hospitality Award rate since July 2022, as set below.
