Now that we are in the beginning the festive season.

This is your reminder that injectables and alcohol DON'T MIX!

Be aware that alcohol increases your risk of bruising and bleeding. It can also increase swelling meaning more downtime for you.

For optimal results and the lowest possible downtime, it is recommended to cease alcohol intake 3 days prior to your appointment and 1 day post.

Unfortunately an often unavoidable side affect of injectables.

After treatment the bruising is often minimal or small however can sometimes occur more intense for some.

As an injector there are certain measures we take to avoid bruising as best as possible including technique, product, cooling methods and a good knowledge of the anatomy.

As patients you can also help prevent bruising through the following;
Not consuming alcohol, ibuprofen or fish oils for 48hrs prior to treatment.
These thin the blood and increases your chances of bruising.
