‘Mental load’ means the mental and emotional effort or burden of being responsible for thinking about, planning and organising all the parts of life, for us but also for our children, partner and other family members.
It is mostly invisible to others and sometimes unrecognisable to ourselves, but oh boy is it real. And heavy. And hard.

MAGNESIUM 🍃
Magnesium is one of the most important minerals in our body, playing a role in more than 300 enzyme reactions. It has many functions, including muscle and nerve function, regulating blood pressure and supporting our immune system. It can also help prevent or treat chronic diseases including alzheimers, type 2 diabetes, cardio vascular disease and migraines. 🌿
Magnesium is also known to support mood, with people living with anxiety and depression often recording very low levels of magnesium 💚
The sad fact is most people don’t get enough magnesium in their diet.
So how do you add more magnesium into your diet?
You can start with a daily supplement - just make sure it’s a high dose, quality product. The average adult needs around 300-400mg of magnesium every day.

I can’t tell you how incredible it was to experience the early morning ritual at Tirta Empul Sacred Water Temple in Ubud on the Ananda Wellness Retreat this year. An absolutely highlight that left us all moved.
Tirta Empul was founded in 926AD and is dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu God of Water. In Balinese, Tirta Empul loosely translated means water gushing from the earth. It is considered one of the five most holy temples in Bali 🙏
