Been a while since we posted something but not very often you get to work on a rare piece of Aussy muscle like this Landau

This big beast came in with some big issues, it was converted to right hand drive, and during that conversion the a/c pump and belt tensioner was relocated to clear the new location of the steering box.

The biggest mistake they did was fitting the belt tensioner on the drive side, so as the engine revs up it was pulling the tensioner to its maximum travel leaving the belt lose on the other end causing other accessories to slip and wrecking belts, bearing failure ect.

Other shops have tried putting shorter belts and tighter tensioners but lead to bigger problems and the water pump ended up snapping off.
We took on this mission and custom made some brackets and fitted an idler pulley to run the belt the way it was suppose to run, making sure it cleared the steering box and making it all line up perfectly, we also had to work out a belt size witch isn’t easy when it has 8 ribs and around 3500mm long as there isn’t much verity out there and re fit the belt tensioner back in the factory position where it takes up belt slack.
But over all it turned out great the Cummins 6.7l turbo diesel is back at work pulling 4.5t loads

Another forklift out the door today, this came in with low engine power and hardly any brakes, gave it a full service, exhaust repair, new brakes and back to work she goes.

This super clean XD Falcon come in for a cylinder head gasket and a cooling system overhaul, got all new hoses and new water pump and radiator, now this 4.1liter cross flow purrs like a kitten again.

Nice clean VL came in for some Maintanance, it got a full service and transmission service, diff oil change and new fuel pump and a new exhaust system now it’s ready for some summer cruising

This Ltd got a full steering and suspension make over using all super-pro bushes, king springs and all other good quality parts we fitted some nice new rims and tyres and a few repairs to the engine to get this summer out of it while we get ready to drop a v8 in it next year

Another classic in today for a service and tune, this 59 Ford thunderbird is a work of art. The way the roof folds up into the boot is amazing for a car this old.

The old classics just keep coming and going, this old Buick had broken down last night due to a generator failing, got a new one for it and fitted it and fixed a vacuum leak and it’s ready for cruising.
This car is also for sale if anyone is interested.

53 Cadillac came in for a service and tune, fitted some horns on it and a few wiring issues now sorted. I feel very lucky to get to work on immaculate cars like these.

Ford ranger 3.2l diesel came in with a seized bottom end due to an oil pump failure witch is very common got a reco crank, new bearings, oil pump and turbo now it’s back on the road.

Another beast in for a transmission service and a deep pan upgrade and an engine service and a set of double adjustable Viking crusader rear shockers. It’s now ready for racing this Sunday.

A few of the jobs we did lately, Mustang finally got its in house built 347 windsor fitted, the Torana came in for a new starter motor, 300zx turbo came in for a set of big end bearings and the Mercedes c63 for an alternator, it’s great having the different variety of work going through the shop

Sunday fun day

Mercedes C63 came in for an intake manifold repair and new control arms and a new set of continental tyres.

Keeping the earth moving equipment working, this bobcat had a hydraulic oil leak from the weld on the ram, I pulled it out re welded it and put it back together, no job is to big or to small for Mc Mechanical Service Center.
