Hello my beautiful souls

This is not the post that I wanted to come to you with and it is a hard and sad one.

Our last day of trade will be on Sunday 30th of June 2024, I know next week.

If I can summarize the last 11 years it is a massive journey that myself and my family has been on.
All the ups and downs cannot express the pain that we are feeling right now.

Reasons are many but mostly it has become beyond too hard to run a business in the economics we are in this moment.

And I guess it is time for us to pull back, regroup and mainly for myself to rest for a while.

I know there will be a void where What's in the Pot? has been and it will be unfathomable to think of this as well.
Believe me I am struggling with the thought.

Change is inevitable and at one point you need to look ahead.

I have enjoyed every moment of our days and I believe I have accomplished in bringing authentic Italian flavours to the table through wholesome and home cooked meals.

I never defined myself as a chef but a "Mum that cooks with passion" and that I will be forever.

My personal growth has been beyond expectations and I have learnt to push all boundaries on all levels.

I have seen a "spark" become a beautiful get together for people to come and celebrate special moments just like home.

Most of all I will miss the little ones that I have seen grow up to becoming cheeky teenagers and beautiful young men and women.
Babies into toddlers and eating their first pasta.
Nothing beats this feeling ... it is just a blessing everyday.

The celebrations of all facets of life have been the essence of who we are and we have always tried to tailor menus to everyone's needs.

Watching someone eat with gusto is priceless for a person that provides food and you all have, on repeat, given me that heartwarming feeling.

The life of the party has been of course my hubby Flori.
With his love for wines and his "singing" has brought the atmosphere to the next level. Bless him.
My children have been in the background supporting me in all my choices.
Family is what pulls you through and my thank you goes to my husband, daughter and son for being there with me along the way.

To all the wonderful people that have worked with me goes my heartfelt THANK YOU.
You are many and I love each and everyone of you so much. You have taught me so many lessons which I will treasure and keep in my heart.
We have shared the good and the hard times together and I am grateful and blessed to have had you all in my life.

I couldn't be more thankful and grateful for everything we have achieved in these years and my Team and I owe it to you all that have supported us along the way. From customers to friends and family was just a step away.

All I can say is we are open to Sunday 30th June, come and say goodbye we would love to have you.
There will be laughs and tears to shed and share, always from the heart as everything we have ever done.

I will leave you with this quote that seems to fit quite well in this moment:

"If someone comes into your life and has a positive impact on you, be thankful that your paths crossed. And even if they can't stay for some reason, be thankful that somehow they brought joy into your life, even if it was just for a short while. Life is change. People come and go, some stay, some don't and that's okay. Remember the good times and smile that it happened."

Now bringing joy to you all is what I will miss the most, I might just find another way of doing this.

The key to our happiness is a vibration of Love and Joy. Once you apply this life takes a whole new meaning.
I wish this to you all.

Hope to see you all in the next few days to say goodbye.

As per tradition our Anzac Day biscuits and tribute to all the brave men and women that didn't think twice to sacrifice their life for the future generations.

We should never take for granted our freedom because it can be taken away from us at any moment and in any way we wouldn't even think of.

Hence from dawn to dusk we remember them and pray:

"In that place of light from which sorrow and mourning are far banished, give them rest, O Lord, thou lover of men. And grant to us who remain the spirit of service which may make us worthy of their sacrifice, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."

Lest We Forget

HAPPY 2024

Reflecting on the year that has been and to where we are going next.
2023 has been full of expected and unexpected events for our Team and for our Family.
Some we have been able to handle well, others it is still work in progress.

We have said goodbye to a few beautiful people and hopefully we will gain more beautiful ones that will share with us their love for this tough industry that we are in.

Where are we heading next? Good question.

I believe as any business we are in evolution. They say it wasn't meant to be easy but it will be worth it in the end.

A few tips on what is to come:
Fundraising Events
Cooking Classes - looking for expression of interest
Liaising with some local businesses to help people in need
and
hopefully a project that is dear to my heart a Community Garden.

The WIP Team would like to thank each and everyone of you that have supported our business throughout the year.
It has meant a lot to us all and we are grateful as it is a tough place out there for small business.

New Year's Eve was a blast - our little alley way was buzzing with people.
We hadn't seen so many for quite a few months.

So to give you all a picture to what we were doing at midnight.
Caitlin did the count down and we entered 2024 either cleaning fridges, washing dishes, sweeping or mopping.

However I had made some smaller Apple Pies so I asked my Caitlin
to jazz them up (and she sure did a great job) and we all had a bite, ice cream and chocolate included.
The small things that make you go a long way.

So we face 2024 with a renewed Energy and Vibration, letting go of some grief and focusing on the Love that has always inspired and been at the core of what we do.

To an amazing year of blessings for everyone ❤️

The What's in the Pot? Team
