What a beautiful way to end Beef Week 2024 - a thank you gift and note to all our staff by the Millers. It was a week filled with laughter, great food and company. From farmers , auctioneers, sales- reps and every job between, Best Western Cattle City Motor Inn was a busy hive of activity. Not only was it a very successful event at the Showgrounds, it was even just as successful in our motel and restaurant. Thank you to all our very valued guest and our amazing staff who worked tirelessly to make it happen. Here’s to a bigger Beef 2027!

This was a poem written by one of our very talented and valued guests. It was written in our restaurant last night in minutes whilst having dinner. Todd has stayed with us twice now and wishes to keep coming back. So grateful for these beautiful words which will be framed up. Oh, and Todd was more than happy for us to share this with everyone ☺️

The Grinch visits our staff Christmas party this year. There’s a lot of stealing of Christmas gifts going to be happening 😂. Hopefully everyone is happy with the gifts we selected and makes amends when their gift gets stolen from right under their noses🎄lol

Upgraded to a cloud based software today that’s going to see us use little or no paper for the most part. Also upgraded to newer computers that are going to improve on efficiencies. Moving on from
paper registration cards to digital cards is quite exciting too.

10/10 to our staff for this review. A huge shoutout to our breakfast cook Robyn for always getting the brekkies out in time. It’s important to our busy Corporates who need to leave in time and there’s nothing better than starting your day with a wholesome breakfast. This corporate guest started staying with us since July of this year and has been back every week, and wishes to stay nowhere else 🙂

Late Friday night we got a call from a travel agency asking for rooms due to a cancelled flight. They were desperate to put up their passengers for the night. Luckily we always have our phone with us no matter what the time, and were able to assist 🙂 . Here’s a lovely review from one of the passengers. A shout out to our awesome housekeepers for keeping the rooms spotless too ❤️

Always puts a smile on our faces when we receive these little notes, be it on a tray mat or a serviette. Very grateful to our valued guests be it in-house, local guests and others who spot our restaurant whilst driving through Rocky. ❤️

Attending the Annual Best Western Conference was educational, enlightening and informative. It was great to meet such awesome like-minded hoteliers who are filled with passion for the work they do, demonstrating customer service par excellence in hospitality. The key theme was “succeeding together” and that reiterated to us the importance of this, be it in our work or personal lives. Team work, certainly makes the dream work!

Attending The Best Western Annual Conference 2023 in the Goldy!

Had the most beautiful feedback from a couple of guests who stopped into our restaurant on their long journey across Australia. They have stopped about 20 times in other places to have a good steak and were disappointed each time with what they were served. They said they were going to give it one last try at our restaurant , and a couple of eye fillets later, they said it was not only the best steak they have had on this trip, but the best steak they have had in their entire lives.

It’s Taco Thursday this week on our specials board. Freshly made with all that Mexican feel good filling 🙂 Please ensure to reserve a table in advance as most nights we are booked up at the Blue Heeler Restaurant @ Best Western Cattle City Motor Inn, and we wouldn’t want you to miss out 🙂

These beautiful, incredible guests of ours who are nurses for the Salvation Army stayed with us for 3 weeks. They have worked tirelessly, sometimes back to back shifts to care for their vulnerable clients. We have never seen three more happier girls than they are. Tomorrow is their last day and they came by this evening to say thank you to all our staff for the hospitality they received during this time. The least we could do for people like them who go over and beyond to make a difference to society. . This is not goodbye as we told them that our motel will always be open and will welcome them like family.

Had a full restaurant tonight every table booked! Thank you to all our in-house guests and guests who came in from outside too. Had some awesome feedback from a guest who said that when they posted on Facebook for people to recommend a restaurant that does the best steak in Rockhampton, ours (The Blue Heeler Restaurant) was recommended by quite a few people 🙂
