Last week, 40 women, men and students gathered at the Empire Hotel in Rockhampton as part of our latest Women in Manufacturing breakfast event. 👷‍♀️
Together they heard from panellists including Amanda Hill (Stresscrete Heavy Haulage SHH), Natalie Rogers (All Industries Group - Engineering & ROPS), Megan Byrne and Jade Patterson-Hyde (Adnought Sheet Metal Fabrications Pty Ltd) and celebrated the roles and opportunities for women in the manufacturing industry.

It was a fantastic morning – thanks to all who came along.
We can’t wait to do it all again with Gladstone manufacturers as part of our SOLD-OUT event next month! See you there!

We would like to say thanks to Australian Industry Group for inviting two of our employees Megan and Jade to be panellists at at the women in manufacturing breakfast this morning.

We have been lucky enough to host some work experience students throughout this year.

We'd like to thank Rockhampton State High School for allowing their students to participate in this program and we are happy to keep supporting students in the future.

Thanks to Brittany Lauga MP for visiting our workshop today & meeting our current female employees & to discuss the new women in manufacturing, we are very happy & onboard with this strategy.

It was great to catch up with Megan, Jenna, Jade and Greg at Adnought Sheet Metal Fabrication today to discuss the Palaszczuk Government’s new Women in Manufacturing Strategy.

Queensland’s manufacturing industry contributes $20 billion to the state’s economy and employs 180,000 people.

This number includes around 52,500 women working in the industry across a range of occupations.

However, women continue to be over- represented in clerical and administrative roles, and under-represented in technical and trade roles, and especially in senior management positions.

Megan, Jenna and Jade are smashing glass ceilings by welding, fabricating and laser cutting in this huge industry in Queensland. Thanks to Greg and Adnought for supporting women in manufacturing. Greg says it’s made a difference to their business because women tend to have a closer eye for detail 👏
