🎉Grand Final Day - From the coach 🍌

There’s no better feeling than making it to the last game of the year, all the blood sweat and tears justified by playing on grand final day. We are lucky in this country to have days like this, days where teams, clubs, families and communities come together to celebrate and support their team, their club, their colours.

For me, I get a great sense of pride watching my club continue to be successful, continue to display all those attributes and values that the founding members instilled upon us 40+ years ago. Hard working, humble and mate ship are the few values I’ve lived by in my time at the club and I would like to think the teams I’ve played in and the teams I’ve coached display these same values.

Like I said last week these games are more intense than your week-to-week fixtures, because of everything I’ve mentioned above but it’s still green grass, 22 players and a round ball.

Relaxing is the key to days like this and trusting everything you’ve done leading up to this day. I mentioned last week that HOPE can be dangerous, and I truly believe this for players, everyone else can hope but for the players if you're hoping to win then that means you're not sure, you’ll probably second guess things and you don’t truly believe.

Be prepared, don’t hope, if you’ve done all the work and you know your role then you’re prepared. Cross all the “t’s” and dot all the “i’s” make sure you leave no stone unturned because if you do the preparation you will have a clear mind and you won’t need to hope!

🍌To all our Bananas out there today play well, believe in yourself and trust your mates but most of all be proud of yourself, be proud of you team and be proud your club!
