The order for no rain has gone in!! 🤷‍♀️🙏🤪

Hello Rocky parkrunners!

**UPDATE: just a 20-minute pacer needed**

We have a roster that is nearly full for Saturday 7th.
We just need 1 x Finish Token Support person 🤩

As it’s the first run of the month we also have pacers.
We do need 1x 20-minute pacer

Let me know of you can do either of these or the Finish Token Support🤩 (full training given!)

Well today's weather was a bit questionable. Wind, rain (when the radar said none) and sand in our path.
This however did not scare off 219 people who came and walked, jogged or rain our course.
I'm glad I was run director here and not at Bushy parkrun (where it all started) who celebrated their 1000 parkrun with an estimated 6000 yes that's thousand, parkrunners.... wow

Weather's looking better than the last 2 weeks, so see you all in the morning to make the most of the morning. Still looking for a Marshall if you can help.

So the request for no rain worked, but next time I'll request no wind aswell.
163 brave people ventured out to walk, jog and run our beautiful course today.
A HUGE congratulations to the 5 people who managed to get a pb. That head wind on the return was really really strong. Roy informed me that this was the toughest run he's ever run. Others also said it was tough and made for a really hard second half.
Hopefully the weather is better next week and we will see your all again for our free run bought to you by the wonderful volunteers. Check out our roster and let us know where you would like to help in the coming weeks.

Parkrun is the end of the rainbow.

I've requested no rain again, so fingers crossed. See you all tomorrow morning.

The request for rain after 9:15 seemed to work today.
A few scattered light drops didn't deter 169 of our parkrun family coming to walk, jog and run our slightly windy course this morning.

Rockingham parkrun Event #544.
249 people enjoyed the beautiful weather this morning to walk, jog or run our beautiful parkrun. We had many take advantage of our pacers this week with 31 pb's this week.

After a cold wet week things are looking up for tomorrow morning. See you all at parkrun. Remember tomorrow is pacer day, so if you are wanting to try for a pb we have some great pacers who will help you along the way.

20th July 2024 - event #542
Wow, 205 people faced the weather and joined us to run, jog and walk the course - and yet again 8am at Rockingham parkrun stayed dry (although it was VERY windy😝)
We welcomed 9 first timers and 24 of you legends recorded new Personal Bests - impressive with that wind-wall!) Representatives of 15 different clubs took part.

Our event was only possible because of our 15 awesome volunteers:

Congratulations to our milestone acheivers 🤩

Cecilia Wear on your 250th parkrun - Cecilia has been park running since 2016, and has completed 222 of her parkruns at Rockingham, and has volunteered 11 times 🥳

Janine King on your 350th parkrun - Janine has been park running since 2016 , is one of our awesome Run Directors, and has completed 295 parkruns at Rockingham, and has volunteered 41 times 🥳

Arthur Hall on your 25th parkrun volunteer - Arthur is a Junior (JM10) runner, he regularly volunteers at Rockingham parkrun with his family, and this morning completed the Event Day Course Check with his Dad before running the course again with everyone else! He's already ran 124 parkruns since 2021; with 111 of them completed at Rockingham; and he's knocked nearly 11 mins off his PB - impressive stuff! 🥳

And a massive HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Bob Hull 80 today 🥳🎂🎁🎉 Thank you to Bob's wife Barbara for the yummy birthday cake, and all his friends & family who wore Bob-mustache's, gave him an awesome Bob-themed birthday card, and helped him celebrate in style (even if the cake was almost blown out of their hands!🤣)

Next weekend we will welcome a few Defence Families who are coming to join us and give parkrun a try. We look forward to meeting some new faces 😍

Rockingham parkrun - Event number 541 - 13th July 2024

This week 225 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 16 were first timers and 36 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 13 different clubs took part.

Congrats to June who completed her 200th parkrun 🎉. June has also volunteered 109 times - Thanks and well done June! 😍

Rockingham parkrun started on 27th April 2013. Since then 11,728 participants have completed 119,395 parkruns covering a total distance of 596,975 km, including 17,110 new Personal Bests. A total of 1,204 individuals have volunteered 6,604 times.

What a morning! Cold and a hideous, first-half headwind 🥶🌬
An amazing 236 people resisted the urge to stay in bed, and ran, jogged and walked the course🏃🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃🚶🚶‍♀️🐕
We welcomed 17 first timers 👋🤩
Our awesome pacer volunteers assisted 28 legends to record new Personal Bests! 🥳
Representatives of 15 different clubs took part ♣️
