No posts here since October 2022….? 🤔

The last 18 months there has been a lot going on behind the scenes, we realised that ensuring these vehicles stay on the road is more important than just the fun gadgets & upgrades. We still do the fun stuff, but it was clear we had neglected the repair business in recent years, and there was a need in the market for someone to step up and solve some difficult problems.

Since early 2022 every spare minute and dollar here has been invested in R&D and development of our own in-house programming tool, UDS by OldJaguar. https://oldjaguar.com/product/uds-engineering-tool/ This brings some new, unique and convenient capabilities to the repair business. We have worked closely with our partners at PCMFlash to expand the capabilities of that tool too, not just for tuning but for the repair jobs as well.

The worldwide supply chain shortages in recent years have seen many JLR vehicles old & new parked up waiting for new parts, in truth some of these parts will never arrive, some will cost a significant portion of the vehicle value. So we've put all our efforts into making used electronic modules able to be installed/programmed to these cars just like new ones. Or to make used modules function correctly in a vehicle when “virginising” used parts is not possible.

Body Control Modules (BCM), Engine Control Modules (PCM), Transmission Control Modules (TCM), Power Steering Control Modules (PSCM), Instrument Clusters (IPC) and the list goes on.

These capabilities are available here in Australia now but also in other markets through selected partners, so that workshops can better service their customers, and keep these cars on the road. We are still doing some direct business with vehicle owners, but our main goal now is to support those workshops dedicated to JLR, and even the JLR dealers too.

So while we never left, it’s fair to say we’re back (on this platform), though the posts on this page will be a bit different in future.

Transmission Tuning - UPDATE #5

We are proud to announce tuning of 3rd Gen 8HP70/76 and 8HP45/51 8-speed transmissions in 2017MY+ JLR models.

New Defender, Discovery 5, Range Rover Vogue, Sport, Velar, and the 2018MY-onward Jaguars too.

Transmission tuning for improved shifts and a generally nicer drive all round, flashed via the OBD2 port.

2009 TDV8 Range Rover Sport, retrofitted Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & Reverse Camera to the factory navigation screen.

Got lift? 2013 Disco4 in for our 700Nm engine & transmission tune package, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, and we fitted a LLAMS height controller as well.

2013 Jaguar XF V6SC, upgraded from the awful base audio to the full Meridian Surround system, 825W 17-speaker, added sub, surround speakers with original grilles, been so long since the last one I forgot how much this system rocks, damn!

Good news for the Ford fans! One happy consequence of our Jaguar & Land Rover 6HP26 transmission tuning projects; we can now clear/reset the adaptations in the Falcon & Territory 6HP26 TCM, either on the bench or through the OBD2 port.

If you've ever had a worn-out Ford 6HP26 rebuilt, and afterward it shifted like garbage and you had to baby it for 3000+ kms while it "unlearned" then you know exactly why this is a big deal. We can reset it back to zero, while retaining your custom tune.
