All Access Day at the Beach 🏖️☀️

Starting prep is a big step!

Our Slacks Creek Therapists recently ran a 'prep for prep' group that aimed to develop some of the skills needed for a smooth start to the first year at school.

The group practised fine motor skills and all the activities to be ready for school like sitting in a circle, playing together and enjoying morning tea!

Our Skills 4 Life program is a great way for teenagers with disability to learn the skills they need to live a more independent life and build confidence through fun and practical activities.

Available in all Queensland Centres - programs are filling up for 2024!

We’ll work with you and your family to understand your individual needs and goals. We’ll get to know you so we can map out the life-skill strategies that will enable you to live the life you want to lead.

As part of her placement, Emma developed a sensory processing information sheet and toolbox for parents to explore with their children.

Sensory processing refers to the process of taking in, organising and responding to the information we receive through our senses, such as the sights, smells and noises around us.

The Montrose Toowoomba Team are delighted to be running a Hanen 'More Than Words' Program in Term 4.

More Than Words is a program that provides parents of young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or social communication difficulties with practical tools to help their children communicate.

- For parents of children aged 1-8 years old who have ASD or social communication difficulties
- The program is suitable for children who are not yet using functional communication, using single words/ gestures/ symbols or using short phrases to communicate
- Suitable for clients on our wait list for services or while waiting for Speech Pathology services
- NDIS funding can be used
- Current and new Montrose clients welcome.

Set up and ready to chat at Fresh Futures Ipswich - come and find out about our programs for teens and young people. Term 4 booking now!

We’re delighted to be offering even more programs for teens and young people in Toowoomba.

Our Term 4 programs kick off on 16 October and are all about Broadway. Participants will work together to decide on a theme to create a short play.

They will complete drama activities and work together to write a script. They will create props and use multimodal technology to record elements to develop a short production to perform to family and friends. Clients can have all levels of communication and mobility.

The focus of the program is to work on: social skills, negotiation, budgeting, planning, working together, increasing self-confidence, independence.

Available:
Teens on Mondays, 3.30-6pm
Young adults on Mondays, 12-3pm
