Ancient Wisdom that focuses on taking care of the Earth to create true Mind Body Spirit Wellbeing.
In today’s SMH , deeply concerning to read that Sydney’s water supply is contaminated with cancer causing “ forever chemicals “.
There is no way to avoid ingesting this really . Even if you could filter this out, plants and animals you eat don’t have access to water filtration systems . It will end up in you one way or the other .
Human’s , like it or not , are being deeply humbled right now . Water is life here on earth . What we do to the earth we do to ourselves .
As the Cree proverb states:
Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.”
It truly is time to grasp your most fundamental relationship for your survival and thriving is with a healthy Earth .

We are thrilled to have Priscilla Reid Loynes co lead with Jem stone during our August online training . Priscilla is one of our OG practitioners who was part of the very first Wayapa Wuurrk practitioner training .
Priscilla is a proud Gamilaroi Yularoi Yinnar , an Indigenous wellness and education consultant and story artist with Gunnima.
Priscilla embodies the Wayapa way of wellness , passing along the knowledge gifted in Wayapa to those who follow to make their journey strong and share the gift of Wayapa widely .
Another strong group of humans embark this week on their training , our last online training for the year . Wishing all an amazing week ahead !
Lots of interesting things happening in sky country during August
Wayapa helps us to remember our role and purpose in life - to care for the earth and all here . We are called to be in what’s known as right relationship with all we share space with , balancing both giving and taking .
We are edging closer towards Spring equinox which is a month away now . One of two times per calendar year where there is balance between light and dark . How can you begin to bring yourself back into right relationship , the balance of giving & taking , in areas of your life where you feel it’s missing ?
Please be in touch to receive our info packs for our online , in person or retreat trainings , these are the last ones for the year .
Another reason to love Fungi and Mother Earth 🌊🍄
The Ocean’s Secret Plastic Eaters 🌍
Deep beneath the ocean’s surface, something extraordinary is happening—fungi are munching away on the plastic we’ve carelessly discarded.
It’s a sobering reminder that while we’ve spent years debating how to fix the damage we’ve done, nature has been quietly and patiently doing the work for us.This discovery fills me with a mix of awe and humility. Here we are, thinking we’re the rulers of this planet, yet it’s the Earth that’s showing us how to heal.
The resilience and ingenuity of nature never cease to amaze me. It’s a powerful reminder that the Earth doesn’t need us to survive, we need her.

Thinking today about what security means . About different ways of looking after ourselves , each other and the earth .
As things continue to crumble , we are presented with opportunities to rebuild what we want Wayapa ways , connected ways .
Some more reflections from the weaving Wayapa with CBT paper . The opportunity to sit in circle , reflect , listen and share really draws out the richness of knowledge and wisdom held in Wayapa .
Continuing to share and learn in this way benefits all humans and their wellness .
Humility & respectful deep listening .
Please join us for final trainings of the year and help people connect to the Earth and true well being .

So many of us spend endless hours & dollars contemplating who we are and what our purpose is ?
We are here to look after and care for , what looks after and cares for us : country .
There are some beautiful reflections in our Weaving Wayapa & CBT paper ( see link in bio ) about Wayapa , CBT & Wayapa +CBT we thought you may like to hear .
These are important long over due changes for Psychologist’s in Australia .

Today and everyday we celebrate and pay respects to Indigenous people .
Wayapa Wuurrk is an Earth connection practice that is rooted in Indigenous planetary wisdom .
Indigenous people world wide make up a small percentage of all people and yet carry the bulk of caring for the Earth .
Today we honour this ancestoral knowledge and resilience and remember that caring for the Earth is the responsibility of all humans .
Beautiful story telling from a Yorta Yorta / Wirradjuri artist that formed part of the peer reviewed research where the interface of Wayapa and CBT were examined & yarned up .
This story looks at separate perspectives, moving towards a cross over that blooms into a unique combination mutually beneficial to both . The triangular 🔺shapes represent the CBT side of the yarn : the thoughts feelings & behaviour cycle . They flow on a straight path which represent scientific thinking .
A free flowing natural form of journey holds the Wayapa circles ⭕️ , each with 14 spokes to represent the elements in the Wayapa method .
Each stream winds its way to the centre of the picture , where they merge to blossom into a unique point of potential healing ❤️🩹
Wayapa has been involved in important research looking at the interface between Indigenous healing practices and western healing practices like CBT
The link to this research is in our bio and can be found here also .
This is beneficial not only to First Nations Australian’s but all who live on these lands

Heal the earth to heal the people .
Dr. Bronwyn King : A story of the power of one ⭐️
Dr. Bronwyn King, renowned Australian Oncologist and public health advocate, discovered she was unintentionally supporting the to***co industry via her super fund 😱 This revelation came as a shock, propelling her to become a fierce anti-to***co activist.
Dr. King now dedicates her efforts to ensuring investments are to***co-free, highlighting the importance of awareness and transparency. Her story is a powerful reminder that even the most well-intentioned individuals can be caught off guard by hidden industry influences. And that one well intentioned person can create huge waves of change 🚭
Her Tedx talk can be found here :

It is worthwhile getting clear on what your values are and checking in on whether who you bank with , have super with , invest with etc are aligned with these . Are you happy if say you care for country, to have your money invested with companies that harm the earth ? With banks that loan money to these projects ? This is a powerful way to become Wayapa in the world .
All of us need to store money somewhere . All of us must have super . It can be a very powerful roar & way to effect change by looking into what you support in that area & making changes .
So … take your power 💪🦁create the change you wish to see in the world by choosing wisely where you keep your change 🪙💰💵
It’s not too late to come join us to train as a Wayapa Wuurrk practitioner .
We have a place remaining for our August online training .
We are 50 % full for our on country retreat in October in NSW and our in person training in November in Victoria
Come put your gifts , skills and talents to Wuurrk to get people connected to the Earth and help be part of the healing and solution .
There is a lot of Wuurrk to be done , come walk with us . Be part of a like minded community .
Today’s new moon coincides with ATSI Children’s day . You may have some intentions around the next generation , their strength & wellness too ?
4 August is National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day – our day dedicated to celebrating our children.
It is a chance for all Australians to come together to celebrate the strengths, languages, stories, and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children!
The 2024 theme, ‘Strong in Culture , Stronger Together’ focuses on the strength of our children that comes from their connection to culture and mob.
The child is the last element we acknowledge and pay respects to in Wayapa . Everything we do , is to make them strong & to feel connected to their community and to the Earth. We borrow the Earth from them .
No one can do it all .
None of us can do it perfectly .
We can all do something & our something’s join together creating big waves of change .
The dominant narrative of the disconnected systems we are part both in society and internally via our thinking , have us believe we are separate from all other life .
Not only are we separate, but that we are above other life .
We are care takers of country . All of us ,regardless of your ancestral background . We all hold that responsibility to look after the Earth
When we balance our right to be here alongside our responsibility to care for the Earth and kin , we become part of the solution not the problem. We live , grow and learn in circles of inclusion and care that keep as all strong and thriving .
We understand that what we do to others here , who have as much right to be as ourselves, we end up doing to ourselves.
Any other way of thinking and being is like a literal deck of cards waiting to crumble .
Can’t let National tree day go without another post honoring them!
I hope you can hop off these rectangles and head outdoors to go and connect with some local tree kin in your neighborhood today
Honouring Ancient Mayan Wisdom that Resets Time - We honour and love exploring Indigenous wisdom from around the world.
A couple of the Wayapa HQ team members have been enjoying studying the Quantum Planet World’s Mayan Magic & Time Course with the amazing Bella Alvarez.
July 25th is known as the Day Out Of Time and is a significant day for the Mayan as it’s the synchronization of the lunar and solar cycles. This day falls outside the regular cycle of the Mayan Tzolk’in calendar, serving as a moment of pause and sacred reflection between the end of one year and the beginning of the next. It is literally a day out of time, honouring the sophisticated knowledge systems of the Mayan that saw time as cyclical rather than linear.
In Mayan tradition, this period is seen as a time for resetting, realigning energies, and preparing for the new cycle ahead. It’s a unique opportunity to release the old, celebrate achievements, embrace forgiveness; and set intentions for personal and collective growth.
During the Day Out of Time, communities come together to honor the natural rhythms of the Earth, express gratitude for abundance, and reconnect with their cultural heritage. Ceremonies, rituals, and gatherings emphasize harmony with nature and the universe.
In honouring this sacred day, let’s embrace its teachings of time being art, mindfulness, balance, and renewal. May it inspire us to live in greater harmony with ourselves, each other, and our planet.
Kangaroos are speedy they can clock up to 70 km / hour to get where they need to go !
You rarely see them travel alone . How many times for those of us who grew up in the bush , did you hear your adults say when you were learning drive & you spotted one hopping alongside the car “ look at for their mates they always go in pairs “
That said , a lot of the time when you see them they are in the sun in a mob . Scratching themselves and having a rest .
If you’ve experienced the Wayapa movement practice you know this element is fun 🤩 🦘
We have a little scratch to the left, scratch to the right signifying the importance of checking in with ourselves in the morning and in the afternoon.
And we also do a process for preparing for sleep. So processing the day that we had. And preparing to be productive the next day.
We can learn from this kin the importance of checking in with ourselves and with our community . Reflecting on the day that’s been and moving forward into the day to come with compassion for our self and those we are in community with .
Pic : a multigenerational mob of kangaroos on Yuin country having a feed getting ready to rest at the end of the day .
Can you take some time each day to be active AND to rest & reflect ?
