Last night Cello Dreaming Louise King hosted Long Listen🎧 Festival Vollie Dinner 🍽️ Party to say thank you to all the amazing people who helped her bring this new festival into life and delivered to the community, just one month a go.

Louise loves cooking and over the years has learnt how much she enjoys bringing people together over food and at her table.

Well, she doesn’t have a big house or a big table for that matter 🤣 but she does have a knack for putting menus together. Dinner parties are not that different to concerts. They both require detailed planning, loving curated experiences and a warm welcome 🤗

Louise spent 3 days prepping, cooking up a storm, celebrating Palestinian vegetarian cuisine as a gentle nod to ongoing humanitarian crisis over in Gaza.

So here’s to our incredible team of volunteers and festival team who listened to her vision, jumped on board the new festival train and started something wholesome, community driven and fun. You vollies are amazing 💕

Festival highlights 📸 album captured by Cynthia Lee

On Sunday 1 October 10am, Eudlo hall was packed with families and folks seeking a Didgeridoo Sound Bath & Culture Immersion Art Workshop. This deep listening cultural experience featured Nikita and Caleb Fitzpatrick from Cultural Collaboration with a Welcome To Country by Aunty Hope Hope O Chin.

We grounded ourselves through breath work, listening to the elemental sound of the didgeridoo in the hall and took the opportunity to create an art work in response to our experience.

Nikita Fitzpatrick, new_dreaming_art First Nations artist and her husband Caleb Didgeridoo Music Therapy guided listeners and makers through the beauty of cultural art and contemporary didgeridoo playing. Cultural Collaboration creates a safe experience for folks to gather, connect on country and understand First Nations cultural business.
