If you join our Equipment Classes (Studio) at tlc pilates in Buderim Pines, this is the max amount of people in any class... EVER! ALWAYS!
Just 3!!
And it's run more like a personal training session, not a group 'follow-along' class. All 3 people, different Pilates exercises, different Pilates equipment. Always the same practitioner (the business owner).
That's why our pricing won't look the same as large Group Reformer studios now, or ever. And we're happy with not being like them, because we're a very different kind of studio. And no hard feelings if you just want cheap Pilates, that's ok - that's just not our jam.
But for many of us, we're looking for something more...
Tiny studio, tiny classes = more impactful results, more time with your Instructor.
We believe Pilates should be bespoke, adapted for whatever needs YOUR body has on any given day you walk into the studio. And that's why our magic number is 3! And why we use ALL of the Pilates Equipment we have available, not just a Reformer.

It's amazing how often conversations come up about how we hold tension in our bodies without noticing.
And it's true, if you caught yourself at any point in the day, it's likely we're holding our breath, or rapidly breathing and holding tension in our head, neck and shoulders.
Now I don't know about you, but as I get older I realise the impact that ongoing and prolonged muscular tension can have on our bodies & our health with chronic pain and niggles.
Pilates is great resistance and strength training focused very much on using your breath to get the most from your exercise. Because of this increased concentration on that breath, you often finish class feeling relaxed and energised, while still having given all your muscles a well-rounded workout ๐.

Hindsight....
Like many of you, I too have spent a number of years hunched over a computer desk, too busy for lunch, too busy for a break, too busy to even leave my desk! It wasn't until this unhealthy habit caught up with me....in a big way, that I finally realised I had to make some big lifestyle changes.
My posture had become so bad it was causing neck and shoulder tension, which in turn led to chronic headaches. Daily headaches that were unbearable and so painful I often ended up on the floor under my desk by mid-afternoon and then home in bed straight after work - my colleagues and family worried about the cause.
Discussing this with my Physio and Pilates instructor led to tailoring my Pilates program to strengthen my shoulders and back. It took a good 6 months to retrain my body but the headaches eventually lessened. Now they only appear once in a while; when I know I've not been taking regular breaks from the computer or I let my reaction to stress get away from me.
One things for sure I'm never risking that coming back, so will always make Pilates my non-negotiable times in my diary!
This is one of the major reasons I believe in the power of Pilates so much and why I studied my Instructor Certification, gave up corporate life and opened my own Pilates Studio.
Pilates helped me get my life back, a life free from pain and my biggest regret is letting my pain & posture get so bad before I made a change. My goal at the Studio is to help others achieve feeling better to get through this thing called life.

Getting rid of my chronic headaches, neck & hip pain was the reason I found Pilates in the first place.
The profound results I found & felt was the reason I ended up completely pivoting away from a 10 year career in Advertising and Marketing to study Pilates in 2016, become an Instructor & open a private boutique studio back in 2017.
Seeing others become strong, confident and overcome pain is the reason I continue my path.
I've been where you are.
I've come out the other side.
I continue to surprise myself with my bodies ability to overcome all the things life throws at it and its ability to stay strong as a 40-something year old woman.
And it is all thanks to Pilates.

How's your posture? How are you seated right now?
Bad posture and the pain it eventually causes are one of the main reasons I hear for starting Pilates when people walk into the studio for the first time.
Head, Neck, Shoulders & Back are the usual spots you'll likely start to notice the niggles. It can present itself in many different ways, no two bodies are alike; headaches, muscle spasms, tightness, neck & shoulder pain to name a few. Learn to listen to your body and what it's telling you. ๐ It speaks louder and lounder until you do!!
This particular area is one I have a special interest in and an area Pilates has helped me personally. If someone can feel better after Pilates than when they walked in the door that's a great outcome!
Whilst it's never too late to work on reducing the pain and tightness caused from postural issues, prevention and maintenance is far better than waiting until you have chronic pain to act ๐
Our Studio Classes are a great class to work on postural mobility and strength with only two other people in the Studio with you.

When we'reย halfway through the year, setting yourself a feel-good goal like this can help you with the motivation to set even more personal growth goals to see out 2024!

Such improvement of the years, Taya utilises her Pilates practice to maintain and improve her strength and flexibility for Oztag ๐. We also love to work on some of the advanced gymnastic style exercises now she is such a strong & confident mover. ๐คธโโ๏ธ So much fun!
Kara hits 300 classes and joins a very special group of tribesters, consistency working on her strength & mobility every week. Kara's discipline is second to none - don't stand in the way of this super woman and her pilates!!

I'm Tamara, a busy woman in her mid 40's who's just trying to keep a strong and mobile body as I age.
Why?
Because I hate the niggles that just 'pop' up out of nowhere if I don't.
Because I just want to be as pain-free as possible. I've had/have/will have things that have gotten me down over the last 15 years, Pilates has helped me manage those. Headaches, desk-related neck & shoulder tension, running injuries (glute/hamstring), sciatica, scoliosis to name a few.
Because I want to be STRONG!
I want to avoid falls, trips and osteoporosis. We see what that can do to our beloved mothers and grandmothers and I'm determined to avoid that at all costs.
Because I want to be MOBILE! I want to continue to be able to get up and down, climb things, put things away, when I'm 80.
Because I want my stress levels to remain low. Concentrating on breathing and mindful movement helps me keep a clear head.
We're at a unique point in our lives, it feels like an awakening of sorts. ๐ We have the knowledge, life experience and need to work on ourselves after many years in the workforce and as important family members. Now it's our time. ๐
I'm stronger and more mobile now than I have ever been. And if I can do it, you most certainly can too ๐
It may not be easy, it may not always be convenient but it will be worth it! ๐ฅฐ

I may be a Pilates Instructor and Studio Owner by day, but looong before that, while we were both still heavily in the corporate world, me (Tamara) at Yellow Pages as an Advertising Executive and Quentin (hubby) as a Financial Planner, we went on the hunt for a countryside weekender. Our piece of paradise finally found in Pimpimbudgee in the South Burnett, in the foothills of the Bunya Mountains!
Fast-forward 10 years, lots of learning and countless hours, has been born. Delivering fresh beef packs to our old home cities of Toowoomba and Brisbane and of course, to our beloved Sunny Coast.

The best thing about your studio, well, there are a few best things;
1. We never do the same old week in week out, even within a week, every class is different. We certainly work hard but it's always fun.
2. We have fun and laugh. There is zero judgement about anything. Everybody just does the best they can.
3. Your studio is a great space for people trying Pilates for the first time. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming.
4. You have created a lovely, warm and welcoming place Tamara, thank you. I am forever hooked on Pilates because of your approach.

Once a month we pull out the Jumpboard on the Reformer for some heart-rate raising fun!
Modified if we need to, it's a great way to build ankle, knee & hip strength, help build strong bones & have some fun! Perfect for some stress-relief after end-of-month work/home pressures.

Tamara was first introduced to Pilates by her husband after he was prescribed the movement therapy as a way to manage chronic neck pain from an old injury. From this initial introduction, a passion for Pilates grew and Tamara has been practising Pilates for more than 15 years.
