We restarted the Club in 2007.
The Drag Strip has been opened for use for 11 events ( 11 weekends) since it’s opening in 2016.
All we want is the Drag Strip to be operational again.
We have a business and maintenance plan!
We want the Drag Strip Repaired..
The BOOST to the Swan Hill economy and the best Drag Racing in Australia is what we want.
We proved we can do it. Now it’s the Swan Hill Rural City Councils turn to come to the party.

Hi Everyone.
Another update on the Swan Hill Drag Racing Strip to stop the
“Rumour Mill”
The Guardian ( local newspaper)
watched the
Swan Hill Council meeting Live Stream.
And without asking one question or doing any investigative journalism, formed an opinion and wrote a story.
The “Jerno”
lives in Melbourne.
Not Local.
Once again
CREATING DIVISION
between the public and the council. Also not helping the Swan Hill Drag Racing Club to move forward.

No Thanks to Pete and the Guardian.

Plain and Simple!

The council did not want to spend $210 thousand on another study that would tell what they already knew.
We have had a meeting with the CEO and another with the Mayor.
We have changed our strategy and have decided to go down another path.
We are gathering costings on an independent level to rebuild our Drag Strip Racing Surface .
The Guardian wrote, the council needed $10 million to do the rebuild. ???
This sent shockwaves through, not only the SHDRC, the public, the councillors and the council.
The SHDRC will be searching for costings to do what is needed.
The SHDRC, with the use of a private consultant and other engineers and business owners, who have offered their expertise.
The SHDRC will be searching for funding through State and Federal Governments with the help of the people mentioned.
This will take time.
We are determined to keep Drag Racing in Swan Hill.
We will be planning and eventually presenting a case to council.
The Swan Hill Rural City Council own the
Swan Hill Motor Racing Complex.
Nothing can happen without their eventual involvement.

The Swan Hill Drag Racing Club Members wanted
“EVERYONE”
to know, what is happening with the Swan Hill Drag Racing Club and The Swan Hill Drag Strip.
For
“Safety Reasons” our Drag Strip was closed by
SHDRC Members.

“The Future!”

We have been in meetings and working with the Mayor, Councillors, Community and C.E.O. of the Swan Hill Rural City Council regarding the future of the Drag Strip and Club.
The Mayor, Councillors, Community and C.E.O. are giving, and have always given, the SHDRC great support throughout.
As SHDRC members,
We are determined for the Strip to be replaced, and reopened for
“All Drag Racers”
to come and race.
This HAS always been our plan from the Start,
“14 Years Ago”
To Build an
“International Quarter Mile Drag Racing Strip”
For “ALL”
Drag Racers from Top Fuel Dragsters inclusive to Junior Dragsters to come and Race!
This has not changed!
Together with the Councillors, Community and C.E.O.
the “SHRCC” will
“Move Forward”.

The timeline for start of work, to completion and reopening the Drag Strip is Unknown at this moment.
We as a Club wanted Everyone to know,
We WILL NOT be Giving Up and we
WILL NOT be disbanding the Club.
We WILL BE Working with our Councillors, Council and Community (who own the Drag Strip and the Motor Complex) to rectify the Drag Strip.
