In Chinese culture, various seafood items are believed to symbolize different aspects of luck and prosperity during the New Year celebrations:

Fish (鱼 - yú): Serving a whole fish represents surplus and abundance. The word for fish, “yú,” sounds like the word for surplus, emphasizing the wish for a surplus of wealth and prosperity.

Prawn (虾 - xiā): The word for prawn sounds like laughter in Chinese, signifying happiness and joy. Including prawn in the feast symbolizes a year filled with laughter and happiness.

Abalone (鲍鱼 - bào yú): Considered a luxurious delicacy, abalone represents good fortune and an abundance of wealth.

Including these seafood delicacies in the New Year feast is not only tasty but also a way to usher in positive vibes and blessings for the coming year.

Sun Ming's sticky fried rice is a popular dish at the restaurant.
The dish's origins can be traced back to the streets of Hong Kong, where glutinous rice was used in various culinary preparations. Over time, the cooking has evoled from being cooked in push carts on the side streets to right here at Sun Ming.
