“Australians ALL let us rejoice for we are ONE and free”. Today our mayor, supported by the majority of councillors has stepped in to confirm our city’s commitment to continue the tradition of celebrating Australia Day on January 26.

Council will provide an extra residential recycling bin collection at no charge between 25 December 2023 and 5 January 2024 to help you dispose of excess waste during Christmas.

Simply leave BOTH your yellow and red-lidded bins out together on your normal weekly pick up days between these dates. Waste pick ups will remain on the same day of the week in your area, even if it’s a public holiday.

I’ve been waiting at the emergency ward at Fairfield Hospital for over 4 hours in a full emergency ward with people waiting for long hours. There’s not enough doctors and nurses, rooms and equipment.

Premier Minns and the state government this is disgusting.

We get taxed like a developed country and in return we get 3rd world country services.

Today we remember all that died in war to give us peace.
