📍 Reykjavík, Iceland
Did you know there are several geothermal spas 🧖♀️ in Iceland?
One of them is the Blue Lagoon, which is a short drive from Keflavik International airport ✈️ and 45 minutes drive from Reykjavik is a geothermal spa located in a lava field 🌋
The water is a milky blue shade due to its high silica content, and is enriched with silica, algae and minerals. The temperature averages 37*C - 39*C (99-102*F).
Not only is the lagoon sustainable by using geothermal energy, the lagoon and facilities is accessible for wheelchair users with ramps that extend into the water and shower.
We treated ourselves to the Premium Blue Lagoon package which gave us access to three masks at the in-water mask bar as well as several other luxurious perks.
Add this stop to your bucket list when visiting Iceland 🇮🇸 next!

In the words of Dorothea Mackellar:
“I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooded plains,
I love her far horizons,
I love jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror -
The wide brown land for me!”
