Our dedicated team is here to help patients achieve the restful night's sleep they deserve.
We invite you to visit us at booth 37 and explore the innovative solutions we offer, particularly our Mandibular Advancement Splint solutions.
Let's join forces to create a positive impact in the way we approach OSA treatment. Together, we can make strides toward improving the quality of life for those affected by sleep disorders.
See you soon at Sleep DownUnder 2023!
SomnoMed is delighted to support World Sleep's vital work with an educational grant. To those attending the meeting in Rio, soak up the knowledge and enjoy the connection with your peers and colleagues. We'll catch you at World Sleep 2025!
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) happens when the muscles in the back of the throat relax. These muscles support the soft palate, the uvula, the tonsils, the side walls of the throat and the tongue.
When the muscles relax, your airway narrows or closes as you breathe in. You can't get enough air, which can lower the oxygen level in your blood. Your brain senses that you can't breathe, and briefly wakes you so that you can reopen your airway. This awakening is usually so brief that you don't remember it.
You might snort, choke or gasp. This pattern can repeat itself 5 to 30 times or more each hour, all night. This makes it hard to reach the deep, restful phases of sleep.
Untreated OSA can lead to daytime fatigue, morning headaches, poor concentration, dry mouth, irritability, relationship pressure and an increased risk of cardiovascular issues.
Worried this may be you? Speak to your GP about your symptoms and if they suspect OSA you may be referred for a sleep study.
Have you been diagnosed with mild or moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and decided that CPAP is not the treatment option for you?
A custom-made mandibular advancement splint, also known as an oral appliance, may be a treatment option for you.
It is important to treat your OSA, so a mouthguard like an oral appliance, made precisely to fit your mouth shape and your teeth, can help you get a comfortable night’s sleep. No masks, no noise, no hose, and no device to connect to.
Talk to your Sleep Physician or Family Practitioner about SomnoDent®. Let’s face facts. CPAP is a very effective treatment for OSA – but only if it is used every night.
