This Reconciliation Week, it's vital to pause and contemplate the significance of unity, understanding, and healing within our communities. This time is a reminder of our collective path towards reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. By paying tribute to their profound connection to the land and cultural heritage, we can pledge to cultivate empathy, respect, and authentic relationships with Indigenous communities. #Reconcliation #LourderThanEver #NowMoreThanEver

The local Guide Dogs Australia Centre is not far from where we live. 🦮 They do wonderful work, and as a supporter, we often visit to see the journey of a guide dogs. They are doing groundbreaking work to help people with low vision or blindness to get around their communities safely and independently. They really are making a difference to so many, and I am proud to be supporting them in our small way. You too can donate time or money to help this brilliant cause. . . . #GuideDogsAustralia #InternationalGuideDogDay #IGDD2024 #AccessRights

Think of random acts of kindness as these tiny bursts of goodness that have the power to turn someone's day around. The memory of a lady battling heat exhaustion, denied a simple glass of water at a café, still lingers in my mind. What was my response? I decided to step in and purchased a refreshing bottle of water for her. I took a seat beside her, offering not just hydration but a moment of genuine connection – I listened to her. Let this serve as a gentle nudge to remind you that these seemingly small acts aren't just fleeting moments; they're like guiding lights, illuminating the beauty of human kindness. And, it's not reserved for a specific day of the year; it's something we can weave into the fabric of our everyday lives. 💫💧 #randomactsofcrochetkindness #kindnessmatters

What do you think about giving your mind a spa day? Let’s talk about the power of meditation. Meditation isn't just about sitting cross-legged and chanting "om" (although if that's your vibe, go for it!). It's a mental workout that helps you flex your focus and chill out your thoughts. It's like hitting the reset button for your brain, bringing a sense of calm and balance to your life. The best bit is when we are stressed or anxious, or something difficult to deal with, meditation can really help. Your mind will thank you for it! I encourage you to listen to your surroundings, take it in, breathe, even if it's for 5 minutes. #meditation #natureinspired #HealingJourney #restandrestore

Pets spread love, joy and happiness to us humans. 🐶🐈🦜 They support us through thick and thin. Life has been interesting, to say the least over the past few years and they’ve looked after us without complaint. Have you ever thought about if they really want to or are we putting them out. I know many of my clients who have pets feel like they can share their feelings openly and feel safe with their pet. They help them feel secure in sharing their feelings. Here are my two gorgeous pets, Ruby Rose and Kahlua, I love them endlessly. #WorldAnimalDay #Pets #LoveAnimals #AnimalHeroes

Dry July is more than fundraising, it's a chance to educate ourselves
This Dry July, I highly recommend educating yourself on what alcohol does to your mind and body. A country girl herself Noelene Brown from Rural Sobriety, understands that living in the country has special challenges when alcohol becomes a problem and you need to seek help that isn’t readily available. She provides online group and one-on-one coaching and gently guides people back to a place where they are able to make informed decisions about their drinking habits and behaviour, and supports them to discover a life free of alcohol without feeling like they are deprived or missing out. Noelene has a heart centred and understanding approach and is passionate about being of service to others and providing a safe, judgement-free space. Alcohol free since May, 2020, Noelene now lives in beautiful regional Victoria. She admits to having nomadic tendencies and loves working online to connect with others, no matter which part of country Australia you are in. You can contact Noelene Brown on these links: https://www.ruralsobriety.com.au Take a full listen to the interview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyKKtFJdXCM&t=1027s

International Bereaved Mother's Day
Today is International Bereaved Mother's Day. 🌻 A mother can lose her baby to a variety of causes, including miscarriage, stillbirth, or death. There may also be mothers who struggle to get pregnant. These grieving mothers can feel hurt, unworthy, lonely, and isolated. If you know a bereaved mother, it can be a kind and compassionate gesture to acknowledge their grief and offer support on this day. 💕 You could reach out with a message of care and empathy, or simply let them know that you are thinking of them. Letting bereaved mothers know that they are not alone in their grief can help them feel seen, heard, and supported. #BereavedMothersDay #griefsupport #motherhood #mybabyhaswings #griefislove #bereavement #memories #gratitude #grief #griefawareness #loveandloss #griefmissingyou #griefsucks

Conversations with Cait - Danielle Snelling
Danielle was 23, when her mum, Rosa, died from cancer. This was an incredibly isolating and lonely experience, and although Danielle had family support around her, none could directly relate. After a fruitless search for support for daughters who had experienced mother loss, Danielle and co-founder, Eloise, established Motherless Daughters Australia - a charity that connects and supports women and girls whose mums have died. Now, with a community of over 13,000 women, MDA provides support via an online support group, programs, events, resources, advocacy, awareness, and research.
