On Sunday at 4pm, Avalon Soccer Club's O45 Div 2 team will play its annual charity game against Manly Vale Football Club at Careel Bay 🥰

They're fundraising for Bear Cottage, the only children’s hospice in NSW - a very special place that’s dedicated to caring for children with life-limiting conditions.

This charity game has been a fixture for over a decade and in that time, $12,000 has been raised for Bear Cottage.

It's a great time to head up to Careel Bay, bring a deck chair, a coldie or two (the weather forecast looks good!) and give whatever you can spare for this very worthwhile cause - the teams are aiming to raise $2,000 on Sunday!

Your contribution may help to make a child’s remaining life a little more comfortable, or it could help fulfil a dream.

At the very least, you’ll get to giggle at a bunch of aging men pretending that they're 18 years old again!

Heat your pool with Pool Nerds and Madimack!

This customer in Balmain, NSW wanted a complete new pool filtration system to replace the old one. It needed to be plumbed in a compact area and enclosed in a new acoustic friendly filter box.

This new pool in Chatswood, NSW is currently in the process of being built. The owners have great taste! They've specified charcoal porcelain tiles; dual multi-coloured lights; swim jets; a waterfall; energy-saving eco pumps and a Bionizer - the healthy, low-chemical, low power alternative to chlorine and salt pools. This pool in Campbelltown, NSW had been neglected for years. That is until the new owners called in Pool Nerds to do an overhaul.

With the installation of a new energy-saving eco pump, a hi-rate sand filter, a Robo Plus powerful robotic cleaner and a Bionizer salt and chlorine-free pool ionisation system, this pool has now been brought back into the 21st century!

Have you ever wondered what a pool looks like before the concrete is poured?

Here’s the latest big project for Pool Nerds. This plunge pool will be a beautiful addition to this new house in Chatswood, NSW, currently being built by Lane Cove, NSW based DCG Constructions.

These photos were taken during the first of three project stages that Pool Nerds is involved in, being the pre-plumb stage. Pressure pipes and cabling conduit were installed in various positions in the steel frame structure and the skimmer box was installed. The pool was ready for the concrete to be poured the next day, on time, on-schedule, as always.

We’re supplying and installing a waterfall with multi-coloured lighting, flush-mounted pool lights, a power-saving eco pump, double filtration system, a powerful cordless robotic cleaner, Madimack eco heat pump, and a Bionizer chlorine-free pool ionisation system. In addition, a propellor-style swim jet system will also be added.

When completed, the pool surface will be finished in a classy charcoal slate, which will flow from inside the house.

Pool Nerds is carrying out all pool plumbing supply and installation in partnership with Riteway Pools of Terrey Hills, NSW. Our suppliers for this project include Reece Plumbing, Pool Ranger, Pacific Pool Products and Bionizer.

In all the many years I’ve been upgrading, servicing and maintaining swimming pools this is a first. This beautiful pool in Maroubra, NSW has a built-in underwater sound system!
